So, I decided to walk to my college from my apartment rather than drive, and with usually 2 classes a day, it adds up to about 4 miles a day (a mile there, a mile back). Im trying to figure how many calories this is burning. Its relatively flat, and It takes me about 18 minutes to walk it at a leisurely pace, although its usually around 15 since ive been late everyday. Counters online were saying 4 miles in an hour was around 450 calories at my current weight, but I wasnt positive. Thanks for the help. =)

  • If you have a smart phone download the free endomondo app it will calculate how fast, how far, and how many calories.

I use a pedometer (cost $20-40 at sports stores) to give me the following info: distance; steps taken, calories burned on the walks I take for exercise: walking the dog, walking to the mall. I even use it to monitor my activity in the house. I find it to be a useful tool.
