I had a stress fracture in my foot last year and my podiatrist put me in a boot for 6 weeks. He let me start on a bike and walk, but no running until the boot was off. If you keep running on it, it won't heal. My suggestion to you is to find some low impact cross training options or at weight training, but don't do high impact for awhile until you can do it with out pain. I know it sucks, but it will suck more if the stress fracture gets worse. Good luck!!:flowerforyou:0

I've had stress fractures in my shins and the only thing I could do was rest. I couldnt run for about 2 months. Rest if the only way it will heal.0

I have had three stress fractures in my feet. seems to be a common problem with me! The first one I walked around on for about two weeks until my foot completely went numb and I had nerve damage before I realized what was going on.
That one took a long time to heal, but the other two times it happened and I saw the doctor quickly and got a boot, it didn't take too long to heal I would say I felt a lot better within about two weeks.
As far as exercise goes, I would probably do some moderate exercise at first and see how you go, don't want to make it worse. If you feel any tingling sensation or more swelling or anything that could be signs of nerve damage which you definitely don't want. I think running might be too harsh, but maybe walking for a couple weeks.
Hope that helps, and you heal up quickly0 -
Yes, As a woman over 300 pounds who enjoys challenging herself, I've had stress fractures of the foot several times. I'm determined to not start running until I'm below 240 in order to avoid more injuries. During recovery I stuck to the bike and elliptical... as I felt better I would do the treadmill at a very slow pace but steep incline. This is what I still do!0
