Looking for a baked apples recipe...
It must be the weather but I'm craving baked apples. My mother used to make them when I was young and now I can't find her recipe. I'm pretty sure what she put in it but not sure of the measurements.
Does anyone have a relatively healthy recipe for baked apples?

Really simple easy to make treat that is quite low in calories! Some people prefer them without the skin, buit i like the added texture, plus there's good fibre there.
Baked Apples
Serves 4:
4 small apples
4 tsp becel (or another 30-35 cal margarine)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
30g raisins
2g sweetener, 4 tsps
drop of lemon juice
Firstly, core the apples.
Mix together the other ingredients, don't use too much lemon juice, just a drop otherwise the blend won't be smooth.
Fill the holes with the mixture and wrap each apple individually in foil. Make sure the foil is thick, otherwise double wrap it.
The seal of the foil should be a spout at the top of the apple that you twist round.
Put the Sealed apples in a baking tray to catch any spillage and then bake in the oven. They need around 45 minutes at 180, but I find they taste best when baked long and slow on a lower heat.

I am ALL about this thread. Yummmm.
I like sliced apples (Pink Lady variety) baked with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Dip them in nonfat greek yogurt. One medium apple and two oz. yogurt totals 119 calories.0 -
BUMP! I would love to try these recipes0

I usually use Fuji apples, so I don't have to add sweetener. And then I just halve them, place them open side up in a baking dish with maybe an inch of water in the bottom. Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon, cover and bake. I think I bake them at 350 for 20 minutes, but it's been awhile.0

Baked Apple With Pear and Almond Filling
Ingredients
•1 large organic apple, halved and cored
• 2 teaspoons reduced-fat cream cheese, divided
• 1 small organic pear, cored and diced very small
• 1/2 teaspoon light brown sugar
• 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 2 tablespoons organic chopped almonds, divided
• 3 tablespoons water or apple juice
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice apple in half. Use a spoon or small ice cream scoop to scoop out some apple flesh from each half, making room for the filling. (You can eat the apple flesh if you like — no need to reserve.) Dab 1 teaspoon cream cheese in the cavity of each half.
Toss the diced pear with brown sugar and cinnamon. Spoon pear filling into each apple half. Sprinkle almonds on pear filling, pressing down to make them adhere. Place apple halves in a baking dish and add water or apple juice to the dish. Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then baste with juices. Bake uncovered for another 10 minutes, or until almonds are roasted.
Makes 2 servings.

I just core the apples from the top and stuff them with a small amount of brown sugar, butter, raisins, cinnamon and nutmeg. I set them in a dish upright in some water or even a blush wine and bake for about 45 minutes, I think. It's my favorite dessert for fall. I got the recipe from a witch's cookbook for Halloween - the apples promote love and harmony in your household. Sounds right, because the smell of baking apples just makes me feel cozy.0
