I went to my first meeting last night. It was kinda scary because I was the only "currently" fat person there, everyone else was just still going to maintain the "crazies" (as they put it). At first I thought, where are all the fat people? But it was refreshing to know that these things work, and everyone in the room had a success story. It was also a big realization that what some of us have is truly a disease, one that needs a life long commitment to stay above it. I would suggest to anyone considering one of these meetings to just get up and go. I felt very welcomed and left feeling informed and able to do what I need to do to beat this bull****!

Yes, it's free and you can donate if you want. I didn't know that, so I didn't bring any cash and felt stupid when they passed the bag around LOL. Oh well, next week0
