I SEEM TO BE STARVING AT NIGHT!!! I came home from work last night and had almost 500 calories left. I work nights so this was at midnight. I ate my calories and waited for the hunger to go away, drank a couple cups of water, and waited......... I could have kept eating til I slept though!!!! ARG!!! I seems to happen like this nearly every night and I have been wanting and aiming towards not eating after say 8 at night but I don't know how to make my daytime calories stop my hunger pains for the "long haul"????

how much protein and fat is in your diet. Carbs the third macro nutrient disappears very fast so it does not stay with you. Protein stays with you and fats make you feel full so are you balanced when you eat at night? maybe do cheese or light yoghurt they are usually pretty good for you and can help control the hunger. or maybe you can eat more legumes/beans. 1 cup of great northerns is 200 calories and can be very filling. i use a pressure cooker when i make them, takes about an hour and they are a great dinner due to low calories and high protein.
  • I have the same problem.

Try SF Jello cups at 10 calories each (Walmart carries generic brand that is about 12 in a package for 2 bucks and only 5 cal each) top with FF Redi Whip (5 cal).

    Or SF Popsicles/Creamsicles...

Also celery and carrot sticks work wonders!

I've also used teeth whitening trays, which make me not want to eat so I don't ruin my results..

    good luck!

After you eat the rest of your calories,
Get some celery or baby carrots. You can pretty much eat as much as you want of veggies (without butter, etc just raw) and the calories won't add hardly anything.
Pour the baby carrots and celery sticks in a bowl and much on that until you are full! Don't worry about the calories because they won't matter!
The other thing you might try is fat free, low calorie popcorn. We got some from the boyscouts and it has very few calories and it fills you up. You can eat the whole bag (microwave popcorn) and it's like 100 calories.
Also try crystal light (or walmart generic sams brand) type drinks, hardly any calories and yummy.
    Good luck!!

You might want to consider looking at your goals.

Are you set for 2 lb loss a week or 1lb?

I find I am starving with the goals that mean a 2lb loss. It is just too low for me.

Also, consider snacking when you start feeling the hunger coming on. Snacks like string cheese, nuts, fruit, popcorn, etc. Low calories but more for the calories you are using.

This shouldn't be torture! I prefer not to feel hungry except when I wake up in the morning. Try changing things around a little and you will be able to stick to it better.

You know I have been having that same problem lately. Very hungry and just want to keep eating... I seemed to have noticed the development after the holidays. While for the most part I stuck within my calorie range I had changed what I was eating to things with sugars, high carbs, and starches... these are things that make you feel more hungry. I ate sweet potatoes with the fixings and that is all I want now... same with my mint M & ms and Watergate Salad, and sugar & alcoholic drints.. they all make me even more hungry after eating them. (I don't know if this is true for you but if so I hope it helps... It took me a little bit to figure out the correlation) My plan is to exercise more and increase my protien, fiber and general clean eating, oh and get back to drinking ALL of my water.

I've heard its good to eat a bit of something every 3 hours, beginning within an hour of waking up, and also like you say not after a certain time at night. Drinking a big glass of water should help. Also, what I've had to tell myself before is Yeah, I'm trying to lose weight, so it ok to be a little hungry now and then. I find a glass of milk or banana at night before I go to bed helps alot if I'm hungry, cuz its really hard to sleep if you're hungry. javascript:add_smiley('heart','post_body')
