ok Question..

If my daily goal of cals intake is 1200 and I eat 1200 but work out that day for a - 400 cals..

Why do I need to eat more.. ???

Why would I want to eat an extra 400 to make up for what I burned ??

Whouldn't that defeat the work out ??

Sad to say, I'm new to this work out stuff....

MFP already has a deficit built in to your calorie goal. If you exercise and don't eat those 400, all your doing is making the deficit bigger. Make it too big and you won't lose weight.. same as if it is too little.

I feel the same as you, I exercise to burn calories and build muscle I don't want to eat back the food I burned off. I understand that it is already calculated for me within my diet plan I just think it defeats the purpose. And for the record I have lost 20 lbs in two months which is "normal" weight loss I think.

Everyone is different. Find out if eating back your workout calories works for you. If it doesn't, then that's fine too.

20 pounds in two months is about 2.5 pounds a week.. and since you have 70 to lose, it's a little high but not bad.

It will prob. slow down a bit though now that the initial 20 is gone.
