I have read a bunch of posts about JM 30 day shred. I started MFP at 195 and I am down to 180 lbs. My goal is to be 145. I wwas thinking to get the 30 day shred, but I found a couple of DVDs and I am not sure what to pick. Is this a sort of sequential program, menaing I start with one DVD and get the next? Also, this is a stupid question, but after the 30 days do I repeat the same over and over? Should I wait until I lose more weight to start this? Finally, did this program enhance your weight loss through MFP?
Thanks for your time!

The 30-Day Shred is a tri-level circuit that includes cardio and weight training. You do a certain number of minutes of cardio, weights, then abs (I might have the order wrong).
There are three levels and they're all on the same DVD. It's about $10 on Amazon, I think.0 -
3O DS is one dvd. Jillian has made a bunch of them. After 30 DS you do what ever you feel like, I would recomend Ripped in 30 depending on what your goal is.0

And you do each level for 10 days before moving onto the next! :bigsmile:0

It's just 1 DVD with 3 different workouts. The idea is to do 1 for 10 days, then 2 for 10 days, then 3 for the last 10 days. I think it's up to you if you choose to repeat the program.
I think you would be fine to start it now. I'm not sure what your fitness level is but just start slow if you have to and work up to more intensity. She has 2 girls with her, one does everything lower impact/intensity and one does it very high.0 -
I am about 3 months into MFP and I am doing JM 30 day shred ...I really like the dvd - I sweat from start to finish. I have found that I really dont have the lifestile to be able to do it 30days in a row but I have been doing it about 4 times a week. You do lose inches for sure but I have found that there is not a lot of weight loss with it due to building muscle. I think that it is a great dvd to use with your weight loss journey so that you are not just losing you are toning.
Good luck in your journey!

Jillian michael's has a ton of different dvds but only one that says "30 day shred." I was really out of shape when I started the 30ds so I did the level one (all levels are on the same dvd) for like two weeks before I moved up...I ended up doing a 42 day shred lol. Once it becomes not such a challenge you should either up you weight or move on. I started the 30ds with 3 lb weights, moved up to 5 lb weights and once that got easy I move on to rotating the shred and then added in Jillian Michael's "no more trouble zones," "banish, fat boost metabolism." One I did that for thirty days I decided I wanted something completely new so last week I started the "ripped in 30" by jillian michaels...I am doing it with 7 lb weights and level one is quite challenging. I also just got the "six week six pack" to give that a try:) Good luck!!0

I think this is brilliant!!!! I am currently on level 2 but will be going to level 3 on Friday (yay). I have been doing it every day since I started except for a two day lapse when I went away one weekend. I was so unfit before I began and couldn't make it through a whole workout to begin with but one day you will suprise yourself and make it through to the end.0

As everyone said, it's one DVD and on three levels and you just do them for as long as you feel comfortable before moving to the next; although the idea is to spend 10 days on each.
I got it for £5 on Amazon, it was a bargain! I know a lot of people on MFP have lost a lot of weight doing it. It does cater for any level of fitness...it doesn't matter if you're completely unfit as you can just take it at your own pace.
Good luck! xx0
