Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead

That's the name of the last documentary I've watched about food and obesity. What is this film about? I'll add the summary taken from IMDB.com at the end of this post.
The reason why I'm posting this, is because hopefully it will be an extra tool most of you can use and incorporate to your lives. It is well known that food has a major impact in our health, including our weight. Most of all here in this site have a main goal which is to lose weight. But is it working for all of us? I've read a lot of posts by users struggling because they can't get to lose enough weight and in some cases none at all. Personally I believe what applies to one person, doesn't necessarily apply to the other unless there are some changes done to meet each individual requirements. For example, if I am eating 3000 calories a day and I'm able to burn fat and build muscle, it doesn't mean that it will work with everybody else. The reason why is because maybe my activity level during a full day is way higher than others, along with other factors will make my metabolism really fast and give me the results I have. Now, since most of us here are not nutritionists or experts in this matter of losing weight, and I'm sure we won't pay a professional because we can't afford it, a good way to help each other is by sharing whatever effective tools we find out there that can help those in need.
After watching this film, I couldn't help but to make the decision of trying this myself. Instead of doing it for 60 days like Joe did, I'll do it for 7 days. The reason why is because I really don't need to lose that much weight anyways. Another thing that came right to my mind was, I must share the information about this film with MFP and let everybody know about this extremely healthy possibility that will help them lose a great deal of pounds. As always, it is a must to consult your physician before trying any diets or extreme diet like this one.
What's my advice? Rent this film, watch it and then go online and do so research about what others have experienced after watching and trying this plan.
So here I leave you with the summary of the movie and I hope it can help you get closer to achieve your weight loss goal.
"100 pounds overweight, loaded up on steroids and suffering from a debilitating autoimmune disease, Joe Cross is at the end of his rope and the end of his hope. In the mirror he saw a 310lb man whose gut was bigger than a beach ball and a path laid out before him that wouldn't end well- with one foot already in the grave, the other wasn't far behind. FAT, SICK & NEARLY DEAD is an inspiring film that chronicles Joe's personal mission to regain his health. With doctors and conventional medicines unable to help long-term, Joe turns to the only option left, the body's ability to heal itself. He trades in the junk food and hits the road with juicer and generator in tow, vowing only to drink fresh fruit and vegetable juice for the next 60 days. Across 3,000 miles Joe has one goal in mind: To get off his pills and achieve a balanced lifestyle. While talking to more than 500 Americans about food, health and longevity, it's at a truck stop in Arizona where Joe meets a truck driver who suffers from the same rare condition. Phil Staples is morbidly obese weighing in at 429 lbs; a cheeseburger away from a heart-attack. As Joe is recovering his health, Phil begins his own epic journey to get well. What emerges is nothing short of amazing - an inspiring tale of healing and human connection. Part road trip, part self-help manifesto, FAT, SICK & NEARLY DEAD defies the traditional documentary format to present an unconventional and uplifting story of two men from different worlds who each realize that the only person who can save them is themselves."
