Hey MFPs,

Just curious to know who everyone prefers, because I am always looking to try something new!
As for me, I am most definitely a cardio Zumba girl on Xbox 360-Kinect! However in between Zumba and the gym, I also really enjoy circuit training with both, Jillian Michaels and Cindy Whitemarsh videos! I think it is good to surprise my body with a different workout, so I switch-up quite often. Oh yeah, and the Butt Bible is a weekly must to tone my buns. (wink):blushing:
How about you...who is your favorite and why?

Chalene Johnson is great try turbofire, or any other turbo workouts, tony horton of p90x is good but he's hella corny so that might annoy you lol
  • Three weeks into P90X and, at first, I found Tony Horton endearing . . . but he is corny and it's getting a little old . . . though I'm glad he's not super serious at the same time. Great, all body workout though!

I'd like to try to Turbofire and I just might after I complete P90X. Does Turbofire have strength stuff too or is mainly cardio?

I love The Firm workout videos! I lost a lot of my weight in the beginning using these and still love to go back to them to change up my routine!

I'm a big fan of Chalene Johnson and TurboFire, too! It's a great workout that really gets my heart pumping and burns a good amount of calories. I've also become a fan of Amy Bento (apparently she's Amy Bento Ross now!) and Kelly Coffey Meyer - for the same reasons as I like Chalene and TurboFire. I have heard awesome things about Cathe Friedrich, but don't have any of her DVDs...yet!

Chalene, Amy, and Kelly all have workouts that incorporate boxing/kickboxing - which I really like! Kelly and Amy have some great Step workouts, too. I'm a big fan of the Les Mills classes at my gym and the Chalene, Amy, and Kelly workouts can give me that same quality of a workout at home. I just got a barbell and weight set like we use for Les Mills' BodyPump at the gym and ordered Amy Bento's "All Pump Xtreme." I'm hoping I can get a good Body Pump type workout at home on days I can't make it to the gym!

I love me some Chalene Johnson and Jillian Michaels(I have a love/hate relationship with her right now) she gives fantastic results but I want to curse her to damn nation while working out:bigsmile:
  • Chalene Johnson I would have to say. I've been doing the ChaLean Extreme TurboFire hybrid, and I will have to say that she's the only one I haven't wanted to curse out and punch in the face while doing her DVD's. I love Jillian Micheals, but it's harder for me to get into her workouts. With the TurboFire I don't feel like i'm doing a workout video so much as a dance party. I also like Tony Horton he's funny and corny and it does start to grate on you, but on the P90X DVD's you have the option to have cues only, so if/when you get tired of it, you don't have to listen to his craziness anymore. :) lol

Wowwwww..thanks everyone for sharing! I hope others will benefit from your posts just as I have. Here's a flower for my appreciation to all of your responses and to those still to come:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

And I guess, survey says Jillian Michaels and Chalean (Turbofire) is the route to go! As you know, I am a Jillian fan too, but I will now probably go purchase TurboFire! Just one question....am I guaranteed to sweat??? I definitely need it to be challenging and above average cardio workouts, seemingly that I workout 6 days a week!

Oh yeah you will sweat. I have recently discovered the usefulness of head bands/sweat bands. I don't think I've ever sweated so much in my life! And that even going with the lower impact option.

I've done P90X, Insanity and Asylum and would go with Shaun T. I love his hardcore attitude!

I definitely love Chalene and Jillian. My two favourites for sure. I find them both very motivational and I love their workouts. I also like Insanity a lot and love Tae Bo (even though I haven't done it in a while)
  • How intense is Insanity? the idea of it frightens me, but I am curious of what it's like.

I have tried Insanity once, and you all are correct in saying "Shaun T." is good! Even the participants from the video paused from exhaustion!
