What did you eat yesterday?
How many calories did you consume?
How much water did you drink?
How has your weight loss been?
I ate less than 800 calories yesterday but over did it on the carbs and I managed to gain weight:( I'm not concerned because this happens from time to time and my week has been good overall... I also drank at least 12 glasses of water.
I have also allowed my food diary to be viewed by others- critique if you will:)

imo you are severely deficit in both Pro and fat and 800 cal is way too low0 -
i tried that for a few weeks too, eating under 1200, and i stopped losing weight completely. then i increased my intake to something more reasonable and now im back on track0

Thanks for the feedback- I have found that if I eat 1200 calories that I dont lose weight... I should exercise more ( I know it, you know it, yada yada LOL) I am a nurse so I am constantly walking around its not like I'm a couch potato but I haven't had a metabolism since starting fertility drugs- too many hormones!!!!!! My husband is the junk food king and makes eating healthy an issue when he is home for 2 weeks- hence the fast food and pizza this week (I couldnt just say no). I would say that normally I consume a healthier amount of protein and fats...0 -
I think MFP should not give members the option to set themselves silly calories allowances.
How does a person eat less than 800 calories BUT go so over on carbs?
I find it insane that you are a nurse [quite frankly you should know better] Also eating too little could be counter productive to your fertility treatment.0 -

I don't think it does allow that, but that certainly doesn't stop anyone from doing it anyway0 -

The OP has set herself up on 800 cals a day (if you look at her diary!)0 -
You deffo dnt eat enough. I did this last yr although mines wasnt intentional, i lost my job among other stressful factors that had me not eating but at the beginning of this yr when i started eating 'properly' again i put on every pound i lost and so quickly there was nothing i could have done to stop this as at the time i was aware of it but we have to eat right?..Please try eat a wee bit more, for like 2 weeks and i bet those scales dnt move in the up direction, daily yeah they will. 2 weeks and you'll realize you can eat more and be a healthy weight...Not critisizing as i've been here. Goodluck xx0

You are eating nowhere near enough for an adult human to get the necessary calories for proper organ function and to get the necessary nutrients you need to live a healthy life. Unless your 600 calorie a day lifestyle is being supervised by a doctor, you are doing your body some serious harm. Not today or tomorrow, but in the long run. I am actually frightened that you are eating so little and seriously think you should talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian about what you are doing before you cause irrevocable harm.0 -
I don't know how fertility drugs change up your metabolism so I can't help with that, but I do know that a body needs a certain amount of calories to do its normal functions. In the case of women one of those functions is fertility. You may very well be working against what you are trying to do here. I suggest that you talk to your fertility doctor about your diet. You may think that eating 1200 calories a day will make you stop losing weight, but it might also be the only way you are gonna get pregnant. http://www.livestrong.com/article/425141-signs-of-not-enough-calories/
there are many more links like that one, but I trust that particular site.0 -

She went over on carbs because there is an error on her popcorn's carbs. A bag of popcorn has around 30-40 grams of carbs. I double checked the food database and looked at several different options.
As for the fertility treatments and how they affect your metabolism, I have never used them. But I do know a few people who have and they will tell you that it slows your metabolism down and they all have gained weight. However, with that said, 800 calories is still way too low. You should try to stick to the 1200.0 -
We are actually stalling the pregnancy plan for the time being- I refused to be almost 30 pounds heavier than normal when I got pregnant! I have had two children and never gained more than 20 pounds with my pregnancies which came off immediately.
On any given day in the last ten years I have eaten around 1200-1500 calories... I have to cut calories somewhere:)
As for doctors and nutritionist not only do I work with them but I am obviously under the care of a physician- I cant write prescriptions for myself:) My doc has been on board with this weight loss plan- cut calories lose the weight, go back on a maintainence diet and start the process all over again... The goal was to lose the weight in 3months and start again with an eyes wide open approach to potential weight gain when I resume fertility treatments. I literally gained 20 pounds in the first month of taking them last fall- As I was not tracking my intake as much I am sure I was over eating on top of the obvious water gain.
Menopause in your 20's is not cool- the effects of it and treatments on your body is not cool- wanting more babies and not having it happen is not so cool either... Not gonna be heavy on top of it all0 -
I didn't realise that your weight gain is due to fertility drugs, nor did you say to begin with that you are on 800 cals a day with your Dr's blessing.
Sorry but on here you see all too often people with ED's abusing the wonderful tool that is MFP.
This website has helped me so much it always upsets me when I see people netting very few calories per day.
I realise that you are doing so with medical guidence but I stand by what I say - as a general rule I would never, ever advocate going under 1200 cals!0 -

It's alright to have an opinion! You dont have to be sorry-
As a nurse and having taken the very same diet and nutrition courses that a dietician/nutritionist has I can say that yes 800 calories seems very low but when you take into considerastion that I was eating 1200-1500 on a normal day and maintaining my weight at 150-153 pounds (depending on when I got on the scale) you have to cut calories or burn them to lose weight. I am also sure that on days when I am under my calorie goal that the "taxes" I have placed on my children's food (which I dont chart) has brought me up to normal LOL You know that sneak bite of pancake, or the bite of string cheese, etc... I do it a few times a day:)
Fertility treatments are known to cause weight gain- I was naive to think that they wouldnt with me because I have never had a weight problem. I should have adjusted my intake immediately instead of letting it go and settling into it... thats my fault. Also it is very unhealthy to put on so much weight in such a short time--- it needs to come off as quick as it came on. You can see in my profile pictures what my weight has done- the picture with my husband was taken in May of 2010 ( I was 155) the family picture was taken in December 2010 ( I was almost 180)! I was at the upper end of my BMI at that weight- I am tall (6'2") but very fine boned. I don't carry excess weight well either- back problems.
Anyway- there is my story and my defense LOL0
