Hi everyone,
Thought I would give the forum a go and introduce myself to all of you!
I have been using mfp for about 3 weeks now and am finding it incredibly useful and seems like the perfect tool for a control freak like me!
I am on a bit of a mission as I am getting married 7 weeks on saturday and have a mammoth task ahead of me!
My sisters husband sadly passed away over the summer and eating and fitness just seemed to go out of the window so now I have to work like a demon until the final hour to look and feel like the bride I want to be.
Not sure how realistic this is but I am hoping to lose 10lbs for the wedding and have been trying to dodge carbs and also joined the gym this week. I am however giving myself one 'free meal' a week, when I can eat what I want within reason - this is the part that has been keeping me sane and motivated although I know it is reducing my potential weight loss. I feel like allowing myself this treat, all the hard work is bearable - what do you all think? Am I just sabotaging myself? If anyone has any pearls of wisdom they would like to share then I would be delighted to hear them.
Well, so much for quickly introducing myself! I hope I haven't bored everyone to death!

Congrats on upcoming wedding! Your plan sounds reasonable. It will require hard work & dedication. You can do it. An upcoming wedding is a great motivator. Try to monitor cravings & if you are craving a particular food, try to make it healthier by making a lower fat/healthier version of that food. Make sense? Then it doesn't feel so much like a diet but rathier a healthier lifestyle choice. :flowerforyou:

Thanks for the friend request - really appreciate it!
Your point about cravings is a really good one - I do like a glass of wine on a weekend so have been trying to have a vodka and diet coke instead to do a bit better. One of my main problems is my sweet tooth so have been trying to buy in lots of yummy fruit to kill that craving but I seem to keep finding myself eating a biscuit or a sliver of cake every day. Thanks for making me thik n about that - maybe I might google some low calorie baking recipes :-)0
