Friends with excuses :(

That's a tough one. I've been in your spot. My friend convinced me to join WW with her about 10 yrs ago. She quit after a few weeks, I hung in for 3 months and lost 25 lbs.! She made little snarky comments about my weight loss and I actually started feeling guilty about it, too!
Fast forward a year or two and I slowly gained it all back, she was not a good influence - fast food, beer, just being lazy, you name it. I regret letting myself get pulled down but some folks do that. They don't mean to, it's just that 'misery loves company' thing I guess.
Unfortunately, you can't change your friend, just like I couldn't change mine. Just stay positive and keep doing your thing and maybe one day, when she's ready, she'll catch on. Good luck, stay strong0 -
You can't fix someone else, you can only fix yourself. (Do you know how many times my therapist has used this phrase? LOL)
She'd rather attack you and make excuses than face the fact that she's not putting in effort. It's easier to blame someone else than it is to look at yourself and say "I'm the one who puts the food in my mouth. I'm the one who decides whether I sit on my fat *kitten* and watch TV or not."
It's too bad, because you seem like a really good friend and she's not being a good friend in return.0
