I'm also new to PCOS, but I'm too young to be thinking about kids (I'm still in high school). I've been looking for someone with PCOS to share this journey with!

I have not been diagnosed with anything yet but my husband and I have been actively trying to get pregnant for about a year now. I actually joined MFP because I heard losing weight could help me to get pregnant. I too would love any support and friendship from women in a similar situation! Support is everything!!!!! :)
  • I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2009 when I was trying to conceive my 2nd child. I was put on Metformin and Provera in Febraury. April 16, 2009, I found out I was pregnant. It's not impossible.
  • Look for the Fit for Future Families group sept, awsome group of supportive ladies

I was diagnosed with PCOS right about a year ago. I'm also 100+ lbs. overweight and trying to lose at least some of that in hopes of conceiving a second child with my husband. Feel free to add me--I'm happy to offer support to new friends. :)

Welcome! I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2001. I have 3 kids now (2 of which were conceived while going through the progesterone treatments) As I've lost my weight, my cycles have been more regular. It's difficult losing the weight & dealing with everything that goes along with the PCOS, but conceiving a child is possible.

I have PCOS and I know how you feel. However I am a success story, I lost 3 stone and got pregnant 2 weeks before I was due to start fertility treatment. I would recommend a lovely foreign holiday and a rest, worked for me! Ellie is 8 now!

I also have PCOS. I was diagnosed last year, and by changing my diet (and this site) I lose 30 lbs last year. This year I decided to try losing more, and am down another 13 lbs. We aren't trying to conceive yet, but will begin at the beginning of next year. I hear that losing weight is key to success when you have PCOS. I added you as a friend. Lets lose this weight together. :)
  • I've also got PCOS and it's one of the main reasons I'm losing weight. My gyno said that if I get into a healthy weight range, I could possibly REVERSE my PCOS... and as we all know, having this condition increases chances of heart dieases and diabetes so that's more than enough reason to get in shape.

Also, my doctor said that quite a few women who lost weight were able to naturally conceive without fertility medication. Anyone with PCOS who wants to share this journey, helpful tips, and stories, feel free to add me!!

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 6 months ago when my husband and I started ttc. I have about 100 lbs I would like to lose and this is a first step for me. I have normal hormone levels and ovulate normally too but the cysts cause a very short time between ovulation and starting. This short time makes implantation extremely difficult and unlikely. No metformin for me because they're afraid it will make me bottom out therefore causing more harm then good. I will be seeing a specialist in february because that will mark a year for us trying. Hoping losing weight will help extend the time and increase our chances.
  • My wife and I recently had our very first born on April 2011. She has PCOS and Turner Syndrome. We lost 3 pregnancies before we had our lovely daughter. The road is tough but we finally did it with the medical care she needed and her determination of a healthy lifestyle. She hasn't lost significant weight but the fact that I am having a much healthier lifestyle inspires her to be a better health freak.
I wish you the best and if you have questions we could always talk!
