I've gotten a little out of control the last couple years wth eating poorly, not enough exercise, and drinking too much. I'm ready to lose 20lbs-a very realistic goal for me. I've been feeling horrible for the last couple years-lethargic, depressed, unhappy with how I look, can't fit into anything without an elastic waistband-even avoiding activities and meeting people because I'm ashamed of how I look.

Going to start a sensible eating plan, and a walking plan-with major consistancy!!!! Thank you for reading this and all your wonderful support and blogs and pictures.

  • Welcome! That sounds like a great start =)
  • I have only been here less than 2 weeks and I love it! Lots of new buddies to help get the job done. It is good to feel accountable to your buddies and seeing everything written down is a huge help!! I didn't realize how much I had been eating...whew...I feel better now!
    Good luck to you!

Welcome, I just joined myself two days ago and can relate to setting realistic goals for myself. I don't want to lose control I just lost all my weight that took me 1 year to do and thought I would check out this site for support and maintenance. Good luck with your goals and you may add me as a friend if you want.

Welcome! You're at the right place. I never really tried losing weight until a couple years ago. I found MFP, committed myself to losing 25 pounds, and did so in six months.... the healthy way. You'll love MFP and if you stick with it, you'll meet your goal weight and feel so much better! I fell off the wagon late last year and am getting back on track now ready to lose the weight again and hopefully stick with it. Having support definitely helps and you'll find plenty of that here!
