Oat Flour

Hi all, I recently added oat flour to my basket when ordering mny protein shake. I hate porridge and this stuff sounded good. Mixes with a shake or water in the morning, slow release carbs and protein, higher cals than normal for breakfast (which is good for my workout days) etc.
It tastes horrid, even after blending it's gritty and tastes like...you guessed it...porridge!
So I have 2ks of the stuff if anyone wants it, or maybe you can give me a few breakfast ideas for using it that won't taste like porridge.
Oh, and I added a chocolate protein shake to it and that's made no odds, it still tastes like porridge!
Maybe I should foget trying to get oats in the morning and stick to eggs!

Possible to make choc pancakes with that flour?0

You can use it for baking (pancakes or muffins for instance). Just sub half of the regular flour with oat flour. Don't just sub all of of it because flours have different properties and your muffins might turn weird!0

Pancakes sounds good, I'm more a savoury than sweet person so will leave out the chocolate and maybe try banana )
Thanks for the muffin idea, I don't bother with cakes anyway (never did) so won't start now ) But maybe I could do some biscuits instead then?0 -
You should be able to use oat flour in any recipe that uses wheat flour. Just don't expect the result to taste the same and have the same texture!
I had to google biscuits but I don't see why it wouldn't work (provided you keep the half/half ratio). If you're a savoury person, you can use it for bread, pizza crust, ...0 -
Thanks, I don't do much (any!) baking but I'll do some googling and give some things a go. Some handy snacks would be good )0

I make some yummy pumpkin protein bars with my oat flour. There's also a chocolate or carrot if you don't like pumpkin!
