Balancing the calories

I am finding it really difficult to get above 1,000 calories a day but stay within the targets for fat and sugars!!

I have completely cut out chocolate/bad snacks but my sugar carbs are always sky high. Is it always bad for this to exceed the targets set?

For instance, if I have a bowl of museli and some raisins/grapes as a snack in the day - this is really healthy in my mind. Yet I'm exceeding my sugars!

I understand that exceeding the fat intake is bad full stop - but can anyone shed light on exceeding sugar carbs? Anyone else struggle to keep these low?

I'm also a bit hypoglycemic, so I need to get my sugars at regular intervals.

I think most people on here are fine with their sugars going over if it is from fruit and healthy sources. It is not always bad to exceed the targets set. I know some people try to always go over on their protein, or they track their fibre and try to go over on that.

Basically, use this site to track the things you need to track. If what you currently need to track is calories, and staying off the bad snacks, then just do that . Don't complicate it any more than you need to.

You may need to manually adjust the percentages that are automatically set here. Fats are not all bad. You need them. You need the right ones. If you are hypoglycemic - my understanding is that you actually need them more to help keep your sugar level stabilized. Raisins and grapes are very high in sugars. You may benefit from adding different fruits to your diet as you are hypoglycemic. We went through this with my stepdaughter and a nutritionist for her hypoglycemia.

if you really want to keep these healthy but sugary things on your diet, do what you like. but as for fats being bad full stop, that is bull ****! there are healthy fats in nuts and avacado. this is the biggest myth ive ever heard.. the only reason fats are seen as bad is because they are slightly higher in calories per gram of fat. but yes, fat on meat and in dairy should me limited so cut fat off meat and opt for low fat dairy products.
