I need help with crosstraining

I'm in the last month of my training for the ATL marathon and I get a stress fracture in my foot. Doc says to rest it for a few weeks. No running/excessive walking until it gets better. So I'm out of commission for the next two weeks. I'm not in any sort of cast or boot thing. I can walk normally without feeling it too much. Still, this proves a huge problem! First of all, sets me back in my training and make me uneasy as to whether I will be ready for the marathon when it comes around. Is there anything I can do while I am resting to make the transition back to training easier on myself? Should I get on a bike or focus on lifting weights? I don't really know. Any help is appreciated!

I hope it gets better soon! You could certainly do biking and upper body strength training. Some lower body strength as long as you are not standing would work too... Mix it up a little but don't stop the cardio.0

Try a smooth gliding elliptical trainer on the lowest resistance setting and see if that feels OK.0
