I stopped taking my birth control in June. I managed to maintain my weight but not lose through June and July. August we were out of town a lot and i gained. now i have been counting calories, eating better and working out (p90x) and the scale is climbing or not budging. in the past when i did 30ds i lost 2 to 4 lbs the first few weeks. did anyone else have anything similar happen?

Depends which birth control. Desogen made me lose weight because I was never hungry. Orthocept and depo made me gain weight or not be able to lose it.
  • It was harder for me to lose weight while on BC. Now that I'm off it, its been coming off a lot easier

I had not been taking it for years until this past May. I've lost 35lbs since then!

    Funny you should ask............
I stopped taking bc about a month ago.............. hormones were a hot mess (like they are for most women) I was on it for about 10 years.

A hormonal imbalance can make it easier or harder (usually harder) to lose weight. They say it takes one month for every year you were on the pills for them to get out of your system and for things to regulate.

I wasnt waiting 10 months, so I started taking Maca Magic (google it) and Vitamin B Complex 75 from GNC every day. Regulated everything in a couple weeks and I feel better than ever......... Just a thought.

    Good luck! :o)

I've been on birth control for 2 years now and this is my first time trying to lose weight on it.

I've managed to lose 25 pounds with only 5 pounds till where I want to be weight wise. To me it hasn't been that rough.. I lose roughly 3 pounds a month, and nothing on the off week of my birth control.

I've never had trouble losing weight because of birth control. And I've been on quite a few.
