I generally have a glass a day, more if I can afford it in my calorie count . . . it's supposed to be good for the heart. In my house the safety of my family is dependent upon it.

oh shoot! okay Crystal! LOL @ alla the safety of my family is dependent on me getting in atleast a glass a week! if i dont have at least one a week I am going to be B1tchy! as my son said the other day, mom when you are happy WE are happy when you are unhappy, WE ALL ARE MISERABLE!

Keep in mind that a glass of wine is only 5oz! I've found that if i drink a half a glass at a time and supplement it with flavored soda water. Makes it feel like I'm getting more.

6 might be a fair amount. But I'm also a believer in enjoying life and having some treat days - with food or booze, every now and again.

but on the other hand...for the summer, I worked out hard, ate very well, but drank (even staying under or close to my calorie totals) and I still gained weight. It's empty calories that just aren't good.

but hey...gotta live everyone once in awhile. just don't make it a habit...in my opinion.

This question is awesome. You are awesome. And, most importantly, this makes me miss living at home and having a bottle of wine on Friday night with my stepmom while we played family board games or watched Real Housewives. Nowadays, I get *maybe* one drink/week, which works just fine for me, but I miss making memories!

Interesting article about this came out this week.....it does say drinking one moderate glass every day is better than drinking a large amount in only one day.....

I often get "the look" from my husband when i open a bottle of wine as he is not much of a drinker. He doesn't understand sometimes I just like to sip a glass of wine to take the edge off, sometimes I even do it to make my food taste better (ie. pasta).

I was told that if you are having a glass of wine, you might as well have a half cup of sugar... I do not agree.

PS I am new here and loving the iPhone App. My kids like scanning my food for me.

As long you don't have existing liver, pancreas or BP problems and you earn the calories through exercise, I say HECK YEAH!!!!

My hubby has a similar expression "If mamma ain't happy, no one's happy." Ditto for the wine.
