So it is winter and super cold outside. I don't have any exercise equipment at home other than a stationary bike. What is a good exercise dvd for beginners? I haven't exercised in forever and would like a good dvd to start moving.

P.S. Is anybody else addicted to this website? I find myself surfing the message boards in the evenings a lot. :blushing: Maybe I should quit surfing and start moving. I think that might have been an ephiany (sp)

I have tried at least 20....and my favorite is Leslie Sansome Walk 4 Fast Miles.
I am sure she has others, but this is the one I purchased. It is easy to follow. I get burn 350 calories and I 'feel' my muscles the next day.

Simple and not too chatty...oh and the music is good.

I have four of the Gilad dvd's, step, aerobics, weight bearing. He's very good even for beginners. Just google gilad and his website is there, bodies in motion.

I just added on to my cable service and now get excercise tv. It is great. Lots of different workouts from 5 minutes on up. If you have something like that, check it out. If you have a movie service like Netflix, you can also try out videos there. And, there's always the library. You can go to www.excercisetv.tv to look at different videos. You can even download some of those. Some are free, and some don't cost very much. You can even look at a preview. Good luck! There are sure a lot of choices out there to take a look at!! :drinker:

I am going to upgrade my Dtv. I have real basic right now and have to catch a fitness show when it comes on. usually when I try it is belly dancing or something I wont enjoy.

i have my dvds, but it does get boring.

    thaks for the idea:flowerforyou:
  • I am a HUGE fan of the Crunch fitness DVDs. They have a pretty wide variety, and most of them are good for beginners.
They are reasonable priced, about 9.95 a DVD. I got most of mine off Ebay!

I love dvd workouts.. but i"m very picky about them.. Have most of Billy Blanks workouts..
Tae BO- Amped.. Boot camp.. i just love his workouts- tempo.. i turn the volume high up and no matter how " not in the mood I am" he makes me workout ..

Now i started with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred- i don't think she is for beginners

but the " biggest looser " cardio and sculpt dvd's are for everyone, beginners and advanced

got them at wal mart for arround 10$ i think..

Also if you want to get a lot for your money - there's this dvd from billy blanks " Celebrity fit "
on that dvd 'you get 3 complete workouts for only 10 $
cardio workout - sculpt workout- ab bootcamp workout.. all thre on one dvd- this is great !

and yes- i discovered this place just today and i think i will be hanging here a lot..
