re my earlier post today of knowing that i was going to go over as i have been out for a meal tonight due to it being my wedding anniversary last wednesday (20th) i have been out to Harvester with my hubby, daughter and her friend-
i have eaten so much but yet dont feel guilty
i have been good since i joined (so i should be) and overall have been under net calories apart from yesterday when i went over by 224
like somone said to relax and enjoy - i did (sorry i cant remember who posted that - i am a little tiddy writing this so exscuse any mistakes)
total over by 1,501 - a lot i know
this is what i had
looking back i made a right piggy of myself but i wont be doing it again for a long long long time

starter: average salad roll with bread roll and one pat of butter
main: full rack of ribs. chips (was naughty) and grilled corn on the cob
dessert: cadbury ultimate choc sundae (did not finish)
washed down with 500 ml chardonay

looking at this it looks like i have eaten for two but anniversaries only come but once a year and i enjoyed
back on the bandwagon tomorrow and i am staying well away from the scales tomorrow
i have lost 6.5 lbs and i want to give myself a chance to be a good girl again

thanks for listening to my ramblings but its the wine talking (honestly)

In vino veritas. Lol!! Everyone deserves a blow out occasionally, it won't do you any harm, you might even find you lose more next week. Sometimes I think your body benefits from the extra. Glad you enjoyed it! :flowerforyou: Happy anniversary.

Congratulations on your anniversary! I like your attitude! Really. I've always had trouble forgiving myself for my "bad" days and get discouraged (I'm working on that, though...). I think giving yourself permission for one day and then returning to being "good" is an excellent idea! I wish you success!

One day isnt going to kill your diet but as you go along on your journey to a new lifestyle remember that this isnt just a diet that you will go off of after you lose all the weight you want to lose but a lifestyle change to a healthier you. No reason to leave those "bad" foods out but to educate your body to eating a smaller portion which in turn will keep your numbers in check for those days you want to celebrate something.

I realized something the other day when I had told a friend(who is also trying to lose some weight) that i was going to be spending the weekend alone. The first thing she suggested was why dont we meet for lunch? Why do people have to socialize around food? Why not meet at the book store or at the gym or local park and walk?
what i realized was that all celebrations or get togethers seem to focus on food. Maybe when we(meaning me also) finish this lifestyle change journey the first thing I think about when planning to get together with a friend or celebrate a milestone will be taking a nature walk together or a hike. The time together is the key.,. not what we eat or where we eat which seems to consume so much of our lives!!

    Good luck on your journey!

Happy anniversary! Don't worry about the (rare) food blowout. My 30th birthday was last month, and I was over by 2700 calories. Trip to a winery (2 glasses of wine plus tapas plate) + mexican restaurant dinner where I ordered anything I wanted, along with a margarita and a free sopapilla dessert + a big slice of ice cream cake and more drinks later on that night. It was a fabulous day, as I'm sure yours was too :-)
