I have bad knees. I just 2 weeks ago had arthroscopic surgery to partially repair and remove my meniscus. I have also had my ACL fixed in that same knee, and another torn meniscus in my other knee. I am over 300 lbs and need to get this weight off my knees. I want to do some exercise, but am not sure what's the safest. Any ideas??

swimming! it's a total body workout and isn't too hard on your knees, so long as you don't go crazy. inbox me if you want some swimming ideas - good luck!

You can do stuff from a seated position:
    Kettlebells, pushpress,
Floor: pushups, situps, hollow rocks, flutterkicks
cardio - rowing (one legged, and not as hard a pull)
body weight strength training - bar dips, ring rows, ring pushups
This is when you get to be creative and finding a way to do stuff! I know I had fun coming up with different stuff to do on a daily basis

These work to keep you maintained until you can start up again full on. I was back at the gym 2 weeks after surgery (they reattaced my achilles tendon) and they had me do everything from a sitted or floor position. You don't break as hard of a sweat, but at least you are still doing exercising.

    Just don't give up!

I understand where you are. I have had one knee replaced and trying not to have the other one done. I have 125 lbs to lose.
I agree with the pool. However I don't swim due to back fractures but I do walk in the pool. I highly reccommend it.
Don't let your weight keep you from going. If people stare that is their problem at least you are trying to do something about it.
You can google pool exercises for all kinds of suggestions as well as how to do walking in the pool.
It is the best way for people with lots of weight to lose and bad knees. Yes it does take time but you are worth that time.
You may add me as a friend if you like.
