Posted this in fitness because none of the others felt right.

So. I works evenings and nights and have the fortune to sleep all day. I still try to avoid sleeping the whole day away because if I sleep more then 8-8,5 hours I feel sleepy the whole rest of the day. Of course this depends on the quality of your sleep, 8 hours is not nearly enough if its interupted etc.

So anybody with similar experinces? If you have articles about length of sleep and studies on this subject I would apprciate that as well.

A registered dietician told me that it was more difficult to lose weight if you were not getting a good nights rest. So that meant it should be as uninterrupted as possible and 7-8 hours. I was joking and told her "Thank you. I just got another excuse to explain why I am overweight." We soon agreed it was calories in versus calories out.

Sleep is important, but the whole "8 hours a night" is subjective. If I get more than 7 hours of sleep I feel like **** the entire day, 6-7 hours a night and I'm ready to go. Everyone's different, just like anything else, there's no cookie cutter explanation as to what it right and what is wrong.
