I am not very good about stretching and honestly am not sure what is needed, what works when to do what stretches. I feel if I don't start stretching better I may hurt myself. I went for a short jog this evening and my calves were killing me. Did a little stretching after but I know it was not adequate. Any suggestions or stretching routines would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

 Stretching is overrated?!?!?! I guess it is true we are all entitled to our own opinions!!! I would love to read something that supports that!!!!

Go online.....put stretching- you will find lots of stuff that you can use!

    Thanks for the link...

For the user who said stretching is over rated... I'd be interested to read more on that. Do you have a link for that info? Personally, I just warm up, don't stretch really...
  • Thanks for the link fitplease. I've been meaning to look up a good list of stretches to use after running. I can really feel the difference the next day when I haven't stretched.

Just got done with my month massage therapy and get railed for not stretching. When muscles and ligaments get tight, they pull away from joints causing the over exposure of joints and added stress to muscles and ligaments, not a good way to end a run or lifting day. I've added stretching to my workouts, usually a bit before and around 15 minutes after a leg day, and have noticed incredible results as far as DOMS go. Not nearly as sore the next day, and if I can get out of bed the day after a heavy squat session, that makes me really happy.
