Pushing a stroller on a dirt road with hills

I live in a rural area. My road (and drive way) are both dirt with lots of rocks. I try to walk a few times a week with my son in his stroller. I KNOW I am burning more calories than MFP says. But, I'm not quite sure how to log my progress. I walk about a 2-3 MPH pace for about a mile or mile and a half- and it takes me 20 - 30 minutes. I know I should get a HRM, but until then - how do I track my progress? I'm thinking about just logging Walking at a higher pace. It feels more than 3 MPH, but would 4 MPH be to much? I don't want to over-estimate, but under-estimating isn't cool either. Thanks!

  • I would log it as hiking with a less than 10lb load which you are getting by pushing the stroller. Or you could just keep logging "pushing a stroller" and pad the time a little. Best thing is to eventually get an hrm

Pushing a stroller on a dirt/rock road is going to be WAY more difficult than on a paved road/sidewalk!
I would do hiking (10-20lb load)
