You do can do anything that you put your mind too. Just remember that it will be easier, if it's healthy, and you're not starving yourself (Which of course is VERY unhealthy and not recommended.) What diet are you doing? Good luck and if you need some support I'm here!0

Hi...I'm new to this whole fitness pal thing; but remember to listen to your body...it knows what it needs.0

drink some juice, or what ever your detox says. Stay busy, but dont exercise. go shopping, or get a pedi, play a video game, read, call your friends on the phone, etc. just dont think about not eating...0

I still plan on eating--I love food too much to fast! Just cutting out all the unnecessary things--processed foods, caffeine, alcohol, salt, sugar, etc. I've tried a few times before and it's always very stressful. I'm trying to figure out how to be healthy with a busy schedule, limited income, and even more limited cooking skills!
Thanks!0 -
Eat lots of fruits and veggies - and drink lots of water to flush the toxins from your body!! I have found its easier to detox for the long run - remove one or two toxic food choices from your diet at a time and replace them with healthier foods. Before you know it, you will be eating clean without too much stress on your body.0

Oh well that isn't too bad. You just need to educate your self on foods. Start looking at your labels, compare foods at the store. The same turkey bacon would have different fat/salt/calorie intakes-find what is best for you. Write out a list of what you usually eat, then another list of alternatives. for example if breakfast is fried eggs and toast : do egg-whites and a whole grain muffin, or turkey bacon etc. Bad cereal exchange for a healther kind, look for cereal with protein, add some strawberries, use skim milk, or 1%0 -
Carly,
I know what you mean. It's also hard when you have to cook for 5 other people, and two are veterinarians, one absolutely loves meat, and one is a 23 yro who eats like an eight year old, and the other IS an eight year old. So it's kind of hard to find healthy recipes that we all enjoy. A few tried and true ones I've found are Spaghetti & spaghetti sauce, and if you want meat just do ground turkey. Also I make meatloaf out of ground turkey instead of hamburger, and sloppy Jo's as well. Another great one for lunch is a can of tuna, a quarter of an avocado, onion, and tomato and just like a teaspoon of your favorite mayo in a lettuce wrap. Though of course you can leave out the mayo if you want, it just makes the tuna not so dry. Also if you don't have extra money for slim fast or anything don't worry about it, because if you drink a regular 8 oz glass of chocolate milk for breakfast or lunch instead of eating a full meal, it has the same things as slim fast, and ensure but with fewer calories and the only time you really need the extra carbs slim fast offers is if you're training for a marathon or something. I've also started eating ice chips when I want something to snack or low calorie popcorn. Also they do make no sodium salt, or sea salt which is a lot better for you anyway than iodized salt. Another great tip that I just read on here yesterday that I didn't even think of is chewing gum.0 -
Drinking a lot of water and decaf green tea help flush the bad stuff. The fiber from fruit and veggies does the same thing and will fill you up too! It takes a few days, but you can do it if you push through it!!0
