Congrats! I find an Kashi cereals are awesome! They give me energy and keep me full for a LONG time!
  • Congrats on your first 5k. That is so awesome. I'm planning on mine in April but I heard there is one at the end of Sept in my home town. I am restarting my c25k to get faster. Good luck and I'm sorry I don't have any breakfast ideas.

I did my first this morning and finished it in 28:41. I bet you will do great and I second the suggestion for Kashi cereal (go lean or one of the go lean crunch cereals are great choices) and pair it with some sort of milk (I use light soymilk usually) or greek yogurt. Egg whites with whole wheat toast or on some sort of light bread (light thomas english muffin or sandwich thins are a great choice as well.

    Good luck on your run!!

When I eat before a run, it's usually just a bowl of cereal (dry - the milk doesn't sit well during the run) or a couple of toaster waffles with some orange marmalade or jam. Stick with something you have tried before a training run, so you know what your stomach will handle.

Congrats on your first 5K! No matter what your time, just remember to have fun! As far as breakfast goes, I rarely ever eat anything before I run because, even if it's HOURS before, it always seems to make me sick. A lot of people recommend some sort of protein and some carbs. Stay away from anything dairy. And make sure you give yourself no less than 30 minutes for your body to digest it.
  • I would just like to wish you well Maria and say how proud I am of you!! Will be thinking of you tomorrow!!!! xx

Have a great time! I'm trying to work out if C25k will fit into my schedule and your success makes me far more determined.

Look forward to hearing all about it

I don't normally eat before I run, whether it's 2 miles, 3 or 4. I'd stick to eating something you're used to eating before you run. Don't try anything new on a race day.
