HI everyone!
I am feeling so down lately!!! I am on a weight loss freeze! I have no clue whats going on! I work out 3-4 times a week and eat right! LOW CARB... UGH! I was wondering, WHAT IS your weekly weigh loss usually? AND What are you doing to get those results! MY ISSUE is that I have over 100lbs to lose I should be dropping weight like crazy! I have only lost about 31lbs since March 2011... I need so advice, recipes, workout suggestions.... Pretty much a little bit of everything. I leave on Vacation to Texas to visit my Father on Sept 29 ( 3 weeks from now) and I was hoping to go 50lbs light then when he saw me last. 19lbs in 3 weeks is not going to happen but at least 10 more lbs would be nice! PLEASE SHARE ALL ADVICE AND SUGGESTIONS!

I only lose about a pound a week, if I'm lucky! But, I don't have as much to lose, only about 25-30lbs. My only recommendation would be to mix up your workout. I do a different thing every day - walking, running, JM dvd, Taebo, massive cleaning once week, calisthenics, whatever else I can come up with! I played soccer with my son the other day for 45 minutes during my daughter's practice. Just mix it up!!

Good luck and congratulations on the 31lbs you've lost so far! That's a great start!

Have you been resetting your goals as you've lost the 31 lbs? Your BMR is down quite a bit from where you started if you're 31 lbs lighter. You just have to go into the goals section and do the guided goals.
  • depends on the week... i lose about 2.5 pounds a week, because I'm a fulltime college student and I work 20 hours a week so I dont have time to track all my food and excercize 3 times per week but usually I can lose around 5 per week... I hope that helps

Losing 30 pounds in about 6 months is great weight loss, so don't feel bad about what you've accomplished! That puts you losing 1-2 pounds per week, which is completely normal and healthy.

When I was trying to lose weight (I'm pregnant now) I was losing between 1 and 1.5 pounds per week and that was with one or two "days off" where I wouldn't count calories and would go out to restaurants or just eat what I wanted without feeling guilty. I usually exercised about 5 days a week and burned 500-600 calories per workout. My daily calorie goal was between 1500 and 1600 and I always ate all my exercise calories.

Your food diary isn't open for public viewing so I can't see your habits. I really can't give you any suggestions on what to do differently, but since you're losing consistently at a healthy rate, you probably don't need to change anything.

I had felt stuck at a certain weight +/- a few lbs, for 2 yrs. All this after I lost about 35-40 lbs. I'm not sure what works, but I recently joined this site and have lost more weight. I also try to eat as much fresh produce as I can compared to cooked and processed food. I feel like after joining this site, I have to really exercise everyday and noticed that I eat a couple of junky foods I end up gaining the weight back in a day that just took weeks to burn off. This is just me, not sure what is going on with you though. I may, myself, go to a doc to ask more questions, but most of my docs are super skinny and look at me like I have a major problem...based on my poor choices. I did find out on my own before I lost the first 40 lbs that I had food intolerances to many things, including gluten, corn and anything really processed. When I cut that stuff out I lost a lot in the first few months. I also want to go to a doc to talk about that, but I usually pay attention to my body feeling ok or lousy when I eat something.

Also, for me, when I start a new exercise routine I often gain a little the first week, hopefully muscle to help my metabolism.

Just wanted you to know that you're not alone.

What does your food diary look like and how long are your daily exercise sessions? It could be that you may need to bump each daily session by 15 minutes. Or you may need to eat more fiber. Fiber flushes fat, and the recommended daily allowance for fiber is 25-35g of fiber per day. Most people only get about 10g a day. 35g of fiber flushes about 130 calories out of your body. However, you only want to increase you fiber about 5g a day for 2 weeks or so and then increase it again by 5g more and so on, until you get to 25g. If you do it to quickly you will be miserable, gassy, bloated, etc... Also need to drink water. I noticed that when I was at a stand still a few months ago, when I increased my exercise from 20 min. to 30 min. it helped me, plus I went from 3x a week to 5x a week, which also helped. Good luck! Hope this helps you get started again!!

hi - I have only one friend that I began with needed to lose over 100 pounds. She progresses at about 2 pounds per week. She eats basically a clean, healthy unprocessed menu of foods, rarely goes to restaurants, and works out every day to burn 300-450 calories on her stationary bike or elliptical trainer during an45 minute session. She makes sure to get her heart rate up to her training zone at about 65-75% of her maximum. And, she uses a heart rate monitor as a guide.

Her calories NEVER go below 1200, (or her BMR - go to TOOLS and see yours), she usually stays closer to her goal that she set up which is higher (only set at a 2 pound per week loss), so this means she eats back those exercise calories. (She is a very smart nurse.) And she eats well in all food groups doesn't do low carb, but has a 40-30-30 split among her carb-protein-fats.

    Hope this can help :)
