I have been having issues dropping weight! Lack of determination or exercise is not it! I have been working out at the gym all the time and also I have been eating right1 I have lost 31 lbs since March, BUT with over 100lbs to lose I was thinking I would be pulling alot more them my 1lbs-2lbs a week. Especially since I eat more protein and less Carbs! I leave to see my father in 3 weeks and its been a year since he seen me1 I want to lose as much as I can in 3 weeks. Please share any little bit of info you can!

What are you eating? That's the key right there and without being able to view your diary (it's locked) we can't give you good advice. Remember though, that the scale isn't the only measure of your hard work. While muscle weighs the same as fat (a phrase that makes me INSANE!) it is denser so if you've been working out hard, you might be building muscle and it will take up less space. How do your clothes fit? How are your measurements?
  • You never know, if you go back a month or so in your diary you can see any changes you may have made.
  • I think you're going over one of those phases when you seem to get stucked. Some nutriotionists gives you a free week where you can eat as you weren´t dieting and after that, you´ll continue to your regular exercise and diet.
When I had one of this phases, a trainer I had, made me split into two my routine. At first time in the morning did lifts and at night some cardio. Keeping with this rithm could help you boost your metabolism and you'll see results into 2 weeks.
Good luck and keep the hard work :)

    2 Suggestions.
    1. I know I am going to get jumped on for this, but you do not need to eat back all of your exercise calories. Let you body pull them from your fat stores. Also if you have a lot of weight to lose you can afford a larger calorie deficit than MFP calculates for you. As long as you stay above 1100 there is no (literally none not one actually scientific study) evidence that there are any ill effects on weight loss or general health.
    2. Do something to shock your system. Start working out before breakfast, go on a juice fast, use a sauna, change your balance of strength training to cardio. Often doing something to shake up your metabolism will bust through a plateau.

I can give advice... but you might not like it sadly :-( I have lost 40 and only lost one a week other than the first week. It's really how it comes off in a healthy way. Yes very frustrating but think about how you have to restrict 3500 calories for each pound... if you want more than a pound a week you have to restrict more than that per week and thats A LOT!! unless you work out like the biggest loser show for like 6 hours a day then a pound a week is how it happens. Some weeks i lost a tenth of a pound but i knew i was doing what was necessary so no it would catch up later even if it was 3 weeks later and then i'd drop 3 pounds over the 3 weeks. I averaged 1.3 pounds loss per week but it came off. Don't look for a simple trick cuz there isnt one. Just think... you didn't gain the weight overnight so you are not going to lose it overnight but you will lose it faster than you gained it :-) just keep doing what you are doing and it will come off trust me and you are doing great!!!
  • It sounds like you are doing great to me . And losing slowly is best but I don't know what to say if you want to lose faster. Have you tried the trick of drinking a full glass of water before each meal? Or , more but shorter -10 min. bursts of activity in a day. Not necessarily gym work outs. You can get burned out on gym workouts!
