P90X, Crossfit, or New Rules of Lifting?

I need to step up my strength training, and everything I've read has led me to believe that lifting heavy is extremely important. A friend gave me her old P90X dvds, another friend is a certified Crossfit coach and has offered to help me get started (I can't afford one of their gyms, so he's willing to show me all the possible modifications I can do). Finally, I know two women who are loving the New Rules of Lifting.
I run 4 times a week, and may step that up to 5 as the weather cools off.
Any thoughts, opinions, or experiences?

I absolutely loved P90x, you can see my before and after pictures on my profile, but id say look into all three and see what works for you. What is your goal? To tone up or build muscle?0

I do the P90X workouts but have modified it because I would rather do other cardio training. The way I have modified it is by doing the odd workouts through the DVD's. It will help you build muscle as well as not allow you to get too bulky. If your a runner the extra bulk may slow you down. On the recovery weeks I'm doing the Core Synergistics on Monday and Friday. Yoga on Wednesdays. So far it has been working well with me. I am noticing a lot of inches shifting not a lot of weight loss. Actually not much weight loss at all.
Hope This Helps You decide.0 -
I had good results with NROLFW. Great program.
I would reconsider stepping up your runs from 4 to 5 days. I'm a runner myself and have found personally along with lots of research that too much running isn't compatible with fat loss. Good luck!0 -
I love the P90X but you do want to see what YOU like. Whatever you know you will continue to do on a regular basis0

Crossfit is amazing - too bad it is expensive, if your friend can show you the basics, you could always log onto a crossfit website and do the "Work out of the day" at home! You may want to check out Bodyrock TV - she has some great workouts as well - and all for free!!!0
