Does anyone use this machine at the gym? I love it and it's been a huge aid in helping me lose weight but it makes the BACK of my knees hurt so bad. I've changed the incline and resistance and I haven't noticed a difference. Anyone else experience soreness with this machine?

I love this machine! I use if faithfully 5-6 times a week at the gym. I like it a heck of a lot better than the elliptical. I get a much better workout.

I never really had soreness in the back of my knees. I did have my butt and upper thighs hurt shortly after starting on it, but once my muscles got use to it, it was all good.

Are you using any of the programs? Do you stand up straight when you use it? My trainer said that people have a tendency to lean forward on that machine which can cause back issues.

I love the Arc Trainer. It's my favorite. It seems to burn more calories than any other cardio machine. If you are just starting out, I would take it slow and not for too long. I would keep the incline at the lowest setting and the resistance fairly easy.
I'm not sure what your setting are, but maybe these will help.
    Good luck.

I've been using it for about a year, always having the pain though. I set the resistance at 20 and the incline at 5, but I agree with both of you - it's a GREAT machine.

That sounds so odd. Does the back of your knees hurt when you do anything else?

No, it's really weird! It goes away though after awhile, but when they're sore that area is pretty tender! It's really strange. I've never heard of anyone having trouble with their knees on that machine, so it seems odd... but until it really debilitates me, i'm just going to keep pressing on lol :)
