Hmmm, I think this would depend on your overall cholesterol levels and if you have any issues in that regard. I think a quick chat with your doctor would probably give you the best and safest answer. :-)0

it will never hurt to keep your cholest down so try and limit it per week! i probally have 2 max per week and the only othe cholest i have is in my morning milk!0

I would check with my doctors or nutritionist. To keep my cholesterol down, I only have egg whites.0

I love eggs... I wish I could limit my intake more strictly because of all the cholesterol. Since MFP suggests 300mg of cholesterol a day, usually two small eggs makes ~320mg. So I try to have only one a day and keep my cholesterol intake ~160mg per day, but about half of the time I end up having two and topping the limit a bit. Some days I even have three! I'm so bad at this0

I often have at least 2 a day. Our family of 3 can easily go through 30 eggs in a week.
Eggs are one of the most nutrient rich foods out there. If you couldn't afford to buy food, I'd say find the money to buy eggs.0 -
The British Heart Foundation has some advice here: http://www.bhf.org.uk/heart-health/conditions/high-cholesterol.aspx
Here's an extract "For most people there is currently no limit on the number of eggs that you can eat in a week"......"So unless you have been advised otherwise by your doctor or dietician, if you like eggs, they can be included as part of a balanced and varied diet."
I guess the key words are "balanced" and "varied"!0 -
They used to put a recommended limit on it which was recently lifted. I can't remember why. Something about dietary cholesterol not being that relevant. I eat about 10 a week and all of my tests last week were perfect. I think if you are fit and healthy you can basically eat what you want. Especially when what you want is a food which has so many good things going for it.0

That is correct. Scientists have found that dietary cholesterol has no significant effect on bad blood cholesterol levels, in fact eggs contain so many healthy nutrients that we shouldn't restrict them so much. To look after your cholesterol levels avoid refined sugar, white carbs and saturated and trans fats and get plenty of exercise, preferably daily, even if it is just a walk - walking is great exercise. I eat about 10 eggs a week and my cholesterol levels are eggsellent (sorry!)

Current research is showing that intake of dietary cholesterol actually reduces the amount of cholesterol produced by your body. Even more interesting, in a study of men who ate 3 eggs a day for the duration of the study, not only did their cholesterol go down, but their good cholesterol levels went up.
Eggs are nutrient dense, anti-inflammatory and an excellent and inexpensive source of protein. I spring for the Organic High in Omega 3 variety. I don't eat eggs every day - with less than 1300 calories to consume daily, that would get boring, but if I'm in the mood for eggs, I have one or two in the same day.

Even articles that are conservative about it say an egg a day is fine.0 -
If you're worried maybe just have egg whites sometimes?0

Haha thank you very much!!
I used to hate eggs as a kid, LOVE them now! In any form! (but probably not raw lol)0 -
Try scrambled egg beaters. I was surprised by the flavor. Just be sure the pan is on medium heat and I turn it off and let the egg cook in the residual heat in the pan. I also use the egg beaters in baking. Of course if you want a fried egg there is no substitute. My doctor recommends no more than 3 a week but my cholesterol level was slightly elevated. Hoping that at my next check up in November my levels will be better.since I have lost weight (26 pounds so far) and have been exercising.0
