I try and run 2 miles a day, and sometimes my heart rate gets up to 230 and I feel like my lungs are going to burst....what's the average normal heart rate while exercising? Is mine too high? Advice please! Thank you!

thats probably either inaccurate or you have a health issue.
dont use a heart rate monitor..take your own heart rate.
a rule of thumb is..a persons maximum heart rate is 220 minus your age. max heart rate is the highest rate through exercise a person can acheive.
i'm 34 so my max heart rate is 186..i rarely go above 150 when doing cardio.
if your heart rate is that high..i'd seek medical advice and see a doctor.0 -
Are you sure? because 230 would indicate near death!
Have a look here

Heart rate is an incredibly variable thing. Its really a hard thing to measure, because everyting is a factor. Your current weight, BMI, muscle memory, intensity, stress levels, your height, etc are all major factors. In fact, the shape and size of your heart will affect this. Lance armstrong is able to pump his blood at almost 2x the rate of a normal human being, which allows him to get twice as much energy for (in terms of work on the heart) half the work.
For a normal, average human being, if you can sustain around 170-180, that is a good level. If you are able to maintain higher, go right ahead, and keep doing so, just make sure you give yourself time to rest, so you dont pass out or anything0 -

Although 230 does seem very high, I have to agree with xfaultx....EVERYONE is different. There are 2937429387 factors that go in to how your heart rate is determined and every single person has differing factors. I found this out because when I do INSANITY my HR has gotten up to 200 (usually 190 is my peak) and I have even taken my heart rate manually to make sure my HRM was accurate (and it was!) I also noticed that my calorie burn was higher than other people on here who were doing the same insanity workouts, but I checked my HR with a calorie burning calculator that factors in gender, height, weight, average and peak heart rate and it was accurate as well. Hope this helped!0
