Hello MFP Friends!
I thought I would share some progress since I start back to work tomorrow after maternity leave and this date was one of my mini-goals. I have always struggled with my weight, but more recently I gave birth about 3 months ago to a darling baby girl and was at my highest when very pregnant at 107k / 235lbs and then had my highest non-pregnant weight ever around the middle of July (97 Kilo / 214lbs) which is the first 'before' photo. Now 7 weeks later I am down to 87kilo / 192lbs and can finally see a little bit of a difference! I am wearing the same shirt in both photos, but different pants.
For those who worry that I was dropping weight too fast, keep in mind the first 5 kilo / 10lbs of water weight and lifestyle change went very fast, after that it has been about a kilo or less a week (under 2lbs a week) :-)
My diary is open. Working on a total of about 1500 calories a day, I stick to three square meals a day of about 300 calories each, dinner being 400 or 500, and two snacks - normally fruit (unless there is a birthday like today where I had cake). We almost only have fresh fruits, veggies, fresh lean meats and fish, and lots of water. I go out to eat about once each two weeks and make normal choices, and have dessert. I drink wine in the weekends only. I work out 3 to 6 times a week on a recumbent bike, and have an "Ab Storm" machine for my stomach which is so that I can have a stronger core / center and be generally better balanced. I don't eat back all my exercise calories, but just some.
I am looking forward to starting work tomorrow too!
Before at 214 lbs / 97 kilo:
Now at 192 lbs / 87 kilo:
There is also a picture on my profile in a red jacket - that is near my goal weight from a 2006 biking trip :-)
Cheers, Christy
