i just activated my bodybugg. for those that have one i was just wondering when you download your calories burn? do you only wear it during workouts and download that info or do you wear it all day and download it at the end of the day. i would like to wear it all day so i get an accurate measurment for the calories i burn all day but then i dont know how many calories i can eat if i do not download the info until at night. also if i want to accuratly record calories burned for my workouts how do i know how much i burned during that time if i am wearing the device all day?

I have BMF, which is similar. After wear it for awhile you'll find that you are in the same range for calorie burn for most days of your normal activity and so you'll find with some time what your normal calorie intake should be.

I've been wearing mine since March and I can now predict what my calorie burn is pretty closely just from seeing the BMF reports for so long and getting more in tune with how my body functions. I know that on a lazy day I'm going to burn around 22-2400, on a really busy day I'm going to get around 3200.

I have the bluetooth version so I'm not worried about syncing it so often. But you can sync it to your computer to see where your burn is for the day multiple times a day. You don't need to just do it at night.

Oh, and you will get the most accurate information by wearing 24/7. I've found that it underestimates exercise, by quite a lot. It's basically worthless for bike and elliptical (you can move it to your calf for those activities, but it will still be low by about 30-40%), it underestimates my Jillian DVD workouts by about half. I eventually got a Polar HRM to wear during workouts to get a better handle on my exercise burn and then I edit that info into the BMF data.

    Ha ha ha! Stalker:)

First thing in the morning I wake, coffee, computer and hook up to download, leave it there while I shower for the charge, and then wear it all day pretty much 24/7. This tells me where I stand from the previous day, etc. Sometimes I download at night and check my progress. I have been wearing mine since March also, and I know I burn around 1700-2200 on a day off depending on if I workout or not and 2800 on a full day of work. Good to read bentobe, I do think it underestimates the workouts, and I rarely do ellyptical or cycle.
