I don't think I can eat so Many calories. I've been so used to eating 1200 calories, so when the switch happened I didn't know what else to eat. It seems like so much food.

Add oils to you current menu. Switch from skim milk to 2%, add cheese to your foods, put nuts and croutons on your salad. Use regular salad dressing. You don't have in increase the quantity, not significantly, just the types of foods you eat.0

I am in t
Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Toolse same boat as you are. Since Feb. I have been on 1200 cals a day. Now with my weight loss and exercise program they are saying I need 1600 cals a day. I personally feel like that is way to much food on a daily basis for me too and I sure as heck don't want any oil or croutons lol. I just refuse to update and keep it at 1200. That might end up biting me in the butt. We will see. Have you had any difficulty weight wise since you have updated?0 -
This is pretty good advice. I'm in a similar situation. I was eating 1200 calories for so long, then I just wanted to maintain, but then I actually increased my exercise level to work on my legs. I am finding it difficult to keep up with the calories. I'm at a deficit every day. I am eating around 1700 or 1800 calories a day now. Took 5 months to get up to that and I think the biggest thing was the increased exercise. I was thinking of adding hard boiled eggs to my diet. Maybe I'll start small things like the 2% milk, etc. I thought of protein powder also. What does anyone think about that? I also thought of cutting the exercise out but that is likely the worst idea.0

It IS a LOT of Food. Don't try to eat it all, all the time. There will be days and events that you will use those calories. But my advice is to eat "normally" which means HOPEFULLY you have learned to eat HEALTHILY, if You eat Healthily, then DO NOT add a bunch of "junk" that you DO NOT eat to your eating plan. Don't add extra fats (even if they are "Good" fats or high calorie foods. Let YOUR BODY tell you what it wants, when it wants it. NATURALLY we "Stagger" calories (days we feel like eating more or less calories), eat that way...and no matter what, don't go back to OLD Bad habits, they can easily come back if you are not aware of what you are doing.0 -

The important thing is whether you are still gaining or losing weight. You are NOT supposed to go from eating 1200 calories to 1800 calories. You WORK your way BACK to MAINTENANCE. You ADD 100 calories every 2-4 WEEKS to see where your Body STOPS gaining or losing. When you STOP gaining or losing at a particular caloric intake, THAT IS Maintenance. If your Body stops gaining or losing at 1500 calories for 4+ weeks while you go through your NORMAL activities (including an exercise routine), then that is your maintenance calories. NOW, later on your caloric needs may change, ie, Less activity may dictate less calories...IF you are not "FLEXIBLE" and make Adjustments, you will gain weight...
We make a MISTAKE when we look at our weight and caloric intake as STRICT! Caloric Intake and Weight are FLUID, always in motion! As I have gotten older, I can not eat 1700 calories a day, and I would be a fool to force it, but some days I can eat 1700 calories. Take a look at South Beach or Atkins Maintenance Phases, they have the right idea as to how to slowly "Phase" into Maintenance.0
