At this time I am using free weights and they work fine, but while shopping yesterday I came across the Shake weight at a very good price. Do they work?

The shake weight is a gimmick and, like they say on South Park, it's more a tool to help marriages than it is workout equipment.

If you USE it... I do it on occasion and it makes my arms burn several times during the 10 minute workout they have for it... but it isnt something incredible.

    lmao
  • A girl I used to work with would bring hers to work... quite the "tool"! Everyone had a special term or two for it. lol However, I admitt that I used it once or twice, ya know just to see what all the hype was (*embarassed). I felt that it worked a little, but please don't tell my mother! JK

No. Those gimmick things do not work. If they did, you would see people and athletes everywhere using them.

Yeah I feel the same way My mom bought one and I think it was just a waste of good, hard earned money. My suggestion just get some hand weights.

There is just no replacement for hard work to strengthen muscles. No gimmicks that give you these amazing 5 min workouts are going to do **** for you.
  • For me...my weight is already shakin'!! (Actually, some guy told me that one day...hey baby....you're shakin'!) Shake weights seem like too much work. Nice breathing and slowly lowering those weights are good! Ever read that book, "Body for life". Easy to read and his weight routine makes sense...Sure, he's like way too much on the cover (who could sustain that if "one" wanted to) but, the increase/decrease part with breathing and workout sheets are helpful. :flowerforyou:

I actually have a friend in the army and he and the guys he's with were all told to get one because if its used properly it really does make a good addition to a workout. I have one that I just got but haven't had long with yet, but I definitely feel it working my muscles. I haven't had it long enough yet to say that I've seen huge results from it personally
