Headaches

I am about a month into a healthy lifestyle change. Recently, the last week or so I have been getting headaches. I'm not sure why and I'm wondering if it has to do with my new eating habits. My first thought was that it would be due to loss of caffeine or something but the level of caffeine in my diet has remained constant. Has anyone else experienced this?

I don't see from your journals that you're logging the water that you drink. You may possibly need more hydration.

If your headache occurs on your forehead, between your eyebrows - it could be sinuses. Do you have allergies?

Good idea on the water, that might be the culprit. I don't think it is allergies by the way it feels.
  • Aspartame gives me bad headaches. Are you eating alot of food with artifical sweetner? or diet pop?

Are you eating enough carbs? Carbs are our brain food...if you dont eat enough... headaches are likely!

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water, and try to get in plenty of FRESH fruits and veggies. Also look through your diary and see what you've done differently. It could be food or lack of/too much of calorie intake.

    Just a thought.

I'm not having that many artificial sweeteners but I am going relatively low carb on most days but still include slot of fruits and veggies.

You can get caffeine headaches if you've given up caffeinated stuff
you can also get headaches from sodium if you're consuming a lot of it. (lack of potassium--see article below).
if it's in your forehead it could be tension.
I used to get headaches everyday for nearly a year. So I feel your pain.

I find that when I don't eat enough or if I don't drink enough water, I will get what I call, "hunger headaches." I've gotten them all my life. You might be eating the calories that your plan tells you too, but try eating more filling foods or foods that are more nutritionally dense. If you're already doing that, you may need to eat more frequently, like smaller meals throughout the day if you can. If they are hunger headaches, you're body will adjust eventually. Also, I'm not sure what region you live in, but you could be suffering from sinus headaches from changing weather and seasons. I get those a lot, too.
