Starting P90X tomorrow...nervous

I am excited but nervous as well. I know this is going to be a challenge as I am still considerably overweight but nothing worth while comes easy right? All I can do is my best and keep trying. Any of you newbies to P90X feel this way? I seem to see people that are quite a bit smaller than me tackle this program...is there anyone out there that has or is doing this now that is overweight like myself? I LOVE to push myself and I MUST be soaked in sweat when I am done to know I kicked my butt so I am told I have the right program for that!
Lastly do any of you incorporate your gym workouts with P90X or do you strictly do the program? I just don't want to not use my gym membership for 90 days so I am planning to do both but not kill myself. Thanks guys!

Don't be nervous! Do as much as you can! And strive to beat what you did the day or week before and you will do great!!! Good luck!0

I have not personally done P90X, but I have a friend who does the workouts, then goes to the gym to use the equipment for cardio. That's one option for not letting your membership go to waste for three months!0

It really is nothing to be nervous about! I lost the 27 pounds with P90X and I was not eating perfect the whole time. I just followed the routine as is and didn't do anything else. The workouts are an hour each and I just didn't have more time to devote to extra workouts. You can do it. Tony encourages safety and modification. You will do fine, I'm sure.0

I'm on week #8 of p90x and I do incorporate other things into my workouts. On Sundays, I walk 5k in prep for a walk/run in November and on my 'off' days, I go to a Zumba class and I do Turbo Jam Ab Jam or Hip Hop Abs (Both Beachbody products as well) instead of the p90x Ab Ripper which is a bit beyond my skill and comfort level since I started p90x at such a heavy weight. The Ab Ripper x video hurt my tailbone because so many exercises required you to pivot on or near that area. My lower back wasn't strong enough yet. Perhaps next round! Good Luck!!!!0

I started P90X 3 weeks ago. I am unable to do all that is on the videos but my goal is to better week by week. Baby steps and progress builds your stamina and strength. Good Luck to you!0

I haven't done it yet... but am dying to start it... I'm getting bored with my regular routine... but hubbie says that it's too expensive... we have an anniversary coming up, so I'm going to ask for that as a gift.... good luck - and keep in touch - I'd love to hear about what it's like and about your progress...0

We did not want to pay that much either but I was lucky to find one new in box on craigslist by us for $55 bucks! Try searching there but beware of the copies make sure it is the original ones. I will keep in touch I am excited to see how it turns out.0 -

Thanks for the info. I was just saying to my husband that Ab Ripper might be too soon for me too because it will kill my tailbone and back.0
