So, I just ran my SECOND half marathon today and I have wicked blistering on my breasts from the chest strap. Like a burn. It only happens when I run (and I only notice it AFTER the run, not during), not when I do Insanity or P90X. Freaking hurts!

Does anyone else experience this?

Maybe it's not tight enough (or too tight??)

Do you have the soft or the hard polar chest strap? I have the F4 and it's got the hard chest strap. Were it not for my sports bra band and the fact that i only run 5K's, I don't think I would be able to make it the entire way. one of my clients has the soft HRM band. it's insanely soft and molds right to your skin. I'd likely still pop it under by sports bra band so it wouldn't move while I moved but I wonder if that is part of the issue?

Other possibilities, the band is too loose or too tight.

Hmm...I haven't noticed that with mine. Maybe it's time to replace it? Also, a half marathon is LOOOOONG...might just be from the long wear time. Anyway, congrats on your second half marathon!

Do you have the Polar Chest strap that has the detachable HRM (like for the FT4 or FT7)? I know that Polar has sports bras with the strap built in and all you have to do is snap on the HRM to it...

Mine is the soft one with the snap in peice. It couldn't be too tight but if it's any looser it slides down my ribcage.

Have you ever tried putting it below the sports bra/girls?

I wear mine about an inch below where my bra/sports bra hits and I've never had any issues.

I also never ever run, so that may be part of it :)

Klouttit, if you already have the soft one, you might want to either try putting it lower (below the sports bra as dad106 mentioned) or take a look at grabbing a Sports Bra with the built in HRM like

    http://www.polarusa.com/us-en/products/accessories/CardioSportsBra

    As wbond mentioned.

It could be the wear time, but if you'd like the data and want to avoid the burns (I completely understand!) then these two would be the two best suggestions that I see.

Thanks everyone! I am going to look at getting the bra but first I will try lowering it!

ouuuuuuuuuuuch!! That's made me go all funny!! :noway:

Its obviously caused by rubbing and chafing, but what you can do about it? Vasaline? or blister plasters? Or some kind of barrier where it rubs?

Good luck, I hope you resolve the matter. If not, just dont wear it for long runs like that. That's just too painful to bother. You can average out your calorie burn manually.
