HRM & C25K

I am on week 4 of my c25k program and decided to wear a HRM today. I kept going well out of the zone that I am supposed to stay in.
My question: Should I work at trying to stay in the zone or just forget the zones and push as hard as I can until I eventually build up my fitness so that I stay in my zones. I just don't like the idea of only burning 30% fat like I did today.

I would say forget the zones and run at a pace that you're comfortable running.0

It really depends on what your goal is. If you goal is to burn fat, there are biochemical reasons for staying in the target zone. Covert Bailey is the author of the book "Fit or Fat" and is an expert on fat burning exercise. He has a number of excellent articles on his web site. I suggest you check out this one for some answers to your questions.

Honestly, those zones are a myth and should be ignored.
You are going to burn fat, no matter where your heart rate is.
Like someone else said, go by your body. If you can run at a higher heart rate.. great. If you need to slow it down, thats fine too.0
