burning extra calories

Hey guys
I have just been sat at work wandering (and obviously not doing much work) about any extra ways i can burn the extra calories i consumed over the weekend (and trust me there were lots of extra calories)
I took the stairs instead of the lift this morning, however I can't keep nipping up and down the 3 floors of stairs or my boss really will notice i am not doing any work.
I read a forum a few weeks ago and the only decent tip i could find was "fidget". If you fidget at work (tapping a foot, wiggling a little in your chair etc etc) you can burn up to another 50 cals a day.
Do you guys have any other "useful" tips for those who are sat at a desk all day and need to find some way to burn those extra cals?

Hi Lotte, when I work in the office I try and do a quick walk at lunchtime. It works out to about 40 mins and I go as fast as I can, not sure if you can work that in around your lunch?0

Drink a lot of water! This is not only good for you, but it will force you to make frequent trips to the restroom...which means burning more calories. Along the lines of fidgeting, I find that while sitting at my desk, if I extend my legs out straight and kick them up and down in short strokes, it not only burns calories, but it works legs and abs at the same time. And this is something that can usually be done under your desk without anyone noticing. If possible, I highly recommend using an exercise ball as a chair or standing at your desk for part of the day instead of sitting. Good luck!!0

if your desk is able to be raised, try working while standing up0

Butt clenches!! Might not burn many calories but will do some great toning! x0

Try walking to colleagues offices to tell them stuff, instead of sending a quick email. Making circles with your feet (from the ankles). I also do what vanessa suggests - a quick lunchtime walk (keeps me sane, too).0
