Hey everyone.

So my friends have just invited me to a curry night out on thursdays at one of our local restaurants. The restaurant doesnt have a calorie information section.

Could anyone tell me what is the lowest calorie curry generally as its weigh day on friday!

Try the vegetarian one. Prefer a tomato-based sauce than a coconut-based one. Dahl is pretty healthy too!
Oh an if you're going to a traditional Indian restaurant, tandoori chicken shouldn't have any sauce with it so go for it! :)

Any 'baked' meals are generally pretty good. I did a chicken tandoori and as it had no sauce, it was actually rather low in calories compared to a korma. Stay away from all the creamy dishes as they are the ones with the extra calories. #

This gives you an indication of calories per dish.

    Good luck!

Also - just keep your portions small and get a to go box. You'd also be surprised at how many foods are in the database. I found beef Massaman curry in it.

I've got a couple of Trader Joe's Indian food meals in my diary, and if you stick to that portion size then the calorie count would be pretty close.
  • I usually stick to the tandoori chicken which is dry and go for plain rice rather than the overly oily ones. Tarka DaI (lentil dish) is good too and I do like my naan bread so would share one, but high in cals. Chapati is always a good option as low in cals (think 60 cals each)

    I'm craving curry now! Enjoy!

What about a biryani?? The ones where its dry and you get all the rice mixed in with the meat?? Steer clear of the creamy ones (my favourite).
