Anyone familiar with this restraunt? One opened up right across the street from where I work. On Saturday everything on their menu was free. Free! I didn't get anything! I was actually pretty proud of myself for resisting the temptation of delicious mexican food. I check out the calorie content on the grilled chicken burritos everyone was eating and there 1,130!!! Ekk!!

Yes, i love them. But the healthier me doesn't. You cant really eat anything there unless that's all you are going to eat all day,lol

Ugh, that reminds me of a few months ago when a new CHick-Fil-A and FIve Guys Burgers opened nearby, both had a "free food" day... I unfortunately did not resist, LOL

Qdoba is amazingly good. yet amazingly bad for you
  • Yes, that place is pretty good...If you chose to go there one day, make sure you eat good all day long, and do it on a day that you are treating yourself..I dont call them "cheat day", because I dont look at this as a diet, I look at it as a life change..You can't deprive yourself of all the good foods, just because you are trying to lose weight..Just know how to portion out what you want to eat and ENJOY that food that you want to eat that is more fatty and un healthy..I eat anything I want, I just make sure I portion it out properly..

I've eaten at Qboba many times in my previous life...I liked the food but yes, the calories are a bit high, however they can accomidate to your needs...ie. items on the side and such...good luck on your journey!
  • I love Qdoba. First, go to the website and plan what you are going to eat. If you are going for a burrito or taco salad - get them naked - no tortilla or shell (not fun, I know). I ALWAYS ask for sour cream and guac. on the side. I also avoid the cheese. Not neccessary - you can ask for several types of salsa to mix up the flavor. Hope this helps.
  • I did look at their menu and they can do "naked burritos" but where is the fun in that! lol
  • One of my favorite places to eat! I always ONLY get the same thing - A 'NAKED" chicken burrito with black beans, "green" salsa, and a tiny pinch of cheese and a tiny (teaspoon of sour cream). I always get extra salsa (as much as they will give me.)
Then, I take half out and put away for the next day. The WHOLE naked burrito is 550 calories (without the cheese & sour cream - but just a teaspoon of each doesn't add much.
Half of it is plenty for lunch if you add a green salad or some fruit.

Naked Grilled Veggie Burrito is on my regular menu. I'll eat there 3-4 times a week at times. Hasn't hindered my progress in the least.
  • I hafta agree with the others about the "naked" burrito/taco salad being the way to go. And of course, you can choose items to make it spicy & tasty. I'm Celiac, which means I can't eat gluten, so avoiding stuff like white flour tortillas is a way of life for me. Before I was diagnosed, though, I ate at Qboba and chose the "naked" option because I never liked the unusual "stretchy" texture of the tortillas and I found their taco salad bowls to be too greasy, so I don't think you'd be missing anything to leave them off.

Naked Mango Chicken Salad is delicious!
  • Well, maybe one of these days I will try one of the naked items. I haven't ever eaten there before. Probably good though, then I won't know what I'm missing. lol

That's unfortunate. They're definitely the best fast food restaurant around here, and pretty much every big chain is well represented.

I'm NOT giving up my Qdoba! Their nutrition data is available online so you can plan what you're gonna have before you go. Chicken tacos (no guac or sour cream) and naked burritos (I usually choose bean OR chicken, not both, and no sour cream or guac) are my usual go-tos when I'm being good. But on the rare occassion when I just want a burrito I'll get a regular chicken one w/ no sour cream or guac & eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner.

    I agree with this ^^^

If I'm going to splurge on take-out, I'd rather have something made with quality ingredients and be higher in calories than something super-processed. Love both Qdoba and Chipotle for this same reason.
