sitting down at elliptical, how should I adjust calories?

Hi,
I purchased an under-the-desk elliptical machine, so now I can keep my blood flowing while at work
It has a calorie counter on it, but I am assuming that that would be for using it standing up, which would be a lot more intense.
I would like to count the calories I burn, but I have no idea how to adjust them.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jennita

If it's mean for under a desk then I would assume the calorie counter would work for sitting. ?????0

best option is to get a heart rate monitor :] takes out most of the guess work0

I vote for the heart rate monitor. It's my understanding it's VERY easy to over-estimate how much you're burning. Good luck! How do you concentrate with that thing?0

I googled for a photo of this machine and found another thread about it
