other than being the recepient of an ethnic cleansing movement back in my home country, i will say that i have suffered one injustice that went unpunished.

when i was in third year university i got an internship with a huge steel company (internship = paid 12 month contract offered to students before they graduate, for experience). i rented an appartment, bought furniture, and got ready to move to this town when just 3 days before my start date, my contract was terminated without cause. i was never paid any money as compensation .

i later found out that the said company declared bankruptcy, so i never bothered to go after them.

what is the greatest wrong-doing you've had to suffer?

One time I ordered a hamburger and they forgot to put pickles on it, and by the time I discovered it, I was too far away to do anything, so I had to eat it without pickles. I like pickles on hamburgers, so it was kind of sucky.

That's okay. It isn't obvious, even in person.
  • Is this the thread you were referring to, LJ? I've had greater injustices other than no free coffee for life!

I went campaigning for Obama (I was getting paid and I was a poor college student) and I was promised 250 for 3 weeks worth of work.
I got paid a little more then 100.

Not that big, but when I got hired where I work, I got promised at least 12 hours a week. Lately they've been cutting it down even more, and to top it off, we're starting to get 5 trucks a week until Christmas, which means we should work every day. They only have me scheduled for 8 hours next week, or two days. Needless to say I put in my two weeks this morning, and already got a call back from another company to come in for an interview. ;)

i ordered from Sears.com a couple months in advance for Christmas a few years ago. I had the packages delivered to my mom's house, since packages delivered to the dorms were getting stolen. My mom told me a couple weeks later that some packages arrived -- "Great!" I thought.

When I went to visit my mom, I looked in the boxes (as it seemed small for what I ordered). And it was. 1/2 my stuff hadn't been delivered, AND some of the items they had sent were very damaged!!!

I contacted Sears multiple times, and they told me to send back the damaged goods in the "return envelope included with your shipment." There was NO return envelope!

They never sent 1/2 the stuff I ordered, NOR refunded the money. I had to run out last minute to buy more Christmas gifts (my favorite day of the year btw), because they kept lying to me saying, "We are sending the items. Really." They would even tell me, "The items are on the way. We sent them yesterday." WTF I had so many conversations through phone and chat that eventually service reps would comment on it and hang up on me. D: I even got in touch with their Headquarters to no avail.

Well, I made an account on a message board Sears runs...which is filled with lots of Sears Hate lol. This year, I went back on to visit (which I did every few months to warn people how evil Sears is), and a guy finally contacted me and solved the issue...TWO YEARS LATER! He refunded my money, and sent me a gift card. He even called to make sure I was okay multiple times lol. He was awesome *_*!

I still hate Sears though. I spent the gift card obviously, but the stuff the sell is junk anyways (I never went to Sears in real life before this, except once for a vacuum cleaner or something lol). Even the 1/2 my order I received was junk.

I will never forgive Sears though.

Mine seem small, and trite compared to some. However there is one that really curls my butt hairs and has to do with my girls.

There is a family in this town (small WI town) who have daughters the same age as mine. Their daughters were never allowed to associate with mine. Only reason being that we are/were the new people from Indiana and that my husband was one of "dem durty truck drivers, donchakno" So therefore my family was trash? Meanwhile she's dressing her kids in every namebrand possible, living way beyond her means, no longer speaks to her mother (I guess she's trashy too) filing for bankruptcy, losing their house to foreclosure (those things make me sad for the kids, don't get me wrong, they didn't have anything to do with their parents stupidity) and because I drive a used car and my kids wear the same namebrands but get theirs at Plato's closet and othe consignment shops, we still have our house, oh and I ALLOW my daughter to play hockey with the boys (yeah you better report me for that one) we're trash? WTF

Sad but valuable lesson for my girls to learn. And it hurt when my youngest would ask me why little "Suzie" couldn't come over to play because her mommy doesn't like her.

I'd like to say that I am a forgiving person and don't take too much delight in this particular persons troubles. And usually I do try to rise above it and move on, but every once in a while the catty beotch takes hold and there is a little satisfaction. But she still stands by her beliefs we're trash. Oh well. It is what it is. That chick is effed up and there's nothing I can do to change that but to live my life.

i make beaded jewellery and found a lovely link to a pattern that was gorgeous but simple enough for beginners to learn from and shared it with some friends now nearly half of those that saw it are selling the items they are making with that link, where as me who was a good girl and decided not to sell what i made from it as it would be un ethical to profit from anothers ideas. i might add as well that they are charging way too much for it as well.

my natural mom died on my 12th birthday. literally ON.

my dad got a $50k settlement for a lawsuit regarding the cause of death ON TOP of SS payments totaling $500/mo from my 12-18th birthday

i saw exactly $5k of that. total. and no, i didn't live with my father while he was receiving that money.

my father makes 6 figures, yet my stepmom literally told me that "your father suffered a greater loss than you because of your mother's death"
i have gone through a horrid divorce, job loss, and have lived in my truck at times because i have chosen not to ask for help from anyone else and lived as independently as possible... and yet... my parents didn't even offer to buy my first car much less pay for my wedding, college, or help with any other NORMAL expenses.

it makes me angry just thinking about it. but, i'm a better person for it...

ok I got one, when I was 17 I was in JC pennys as I was walking out some guy slammed me up against a wall and slapped handcuffs on me.He had a bra in his hand that he said I stole,it was a an A cup where I was a C btw. He led me back to the security offices where he tried to search me,I started raising hell saying they needed to get a female to search me.He slammed me down in a chair and left me there for about an hour.Later when he came back he had all these papers he wanted me to sign confessing to stealing the bra.I refused to sign and asked many times for him to call my parents or the cops since I was a minor, they also had the handcuffs so tight on me it was cutting off my circulation and left bruises on my wrists for a week. They held me for 5 1/2 hours before calling the police to come get me.They still had not contacted my parents. The police officer that came was no better once he found out who my brother was ( a troublemaker with many run ins with the police in my city) finally after being in the police station for another hour or so they sent a female officer in to search me,when she saw all the bruises and found out no one had called my parents she threw a fit.I was finally released into the custody of my parents about 8 hours later. The worst part was my parents did not believe me they said security and police officers would never do something like that and i must be lying.I never had any charges brought against be because they lacked evidance, but i did get a letter saying i owed $569 in restution i ignored it and never heard anything about it again.
