HRM suggestions

I am finally breaking down and getting an HRM. I am a one income family and do not have a lot of money to spend...and that is not an exxageration. I would like to get one less than $30 and somewhere I can go buy it and not order it online.

Suggestions? Thanks!

    no suggestions at that price, but the one I adore is Garmin's Forerunner 305. Significantly less expensive and about as good as the newer model.

    See if you can find an entry level Polar or Suunto used somewhere. Craig'slist maybe?
