Do they exist? It seems like even salads come loaded with the stuff. I have some plans that came up this evening and I'll have to get food somewhere on the way. Can anyone suggest anything out there with 5-700g of sodium or less and around 4-500 calories? Your help is appreciated.

Subway only if you get veggies only. And if your wanting fast food, McDonald's chicken nuggets 6 pc with no sauce is 600 in sodium 280 calories. And get apples on the side. If I ever HAVE to get fast food, I'll get the might kids meal with nuggets no sauce apples instead of fries and a diet coke or sometimes they'll let me do a bottle water instead.

HA, if you find some let me know. I don't think they exist! Subway only if you are skipping the bread all together and going veggie only in whcih case that would be a salad..LOL Just makein and observation.

Well, now I feel like having McDonald's nuggets! I've never looked them up, just ruled them out due to deep frying.
  • A McDonald's hamburger and small fry (ask them for a fry without salt, they will do it!) will run you about 490 calories and 670mgs of sodium (according to the website, I'm assuming that if you ask for fries with no salt that number would be lower) Also you could get a parfait or apple dippers instead of fries. Surprisingly their small ice cream cones are also not that bad, running about 150 calories and 60mgs of sodium. If you get a salad remember, the chicken and dressing is what is piling on the sodium. Good luck!

(I don't eat dressing, so none of this includes dressing)
The Subway grilled chicken breast salad has under 400mg of sodium.
The Jack in the Box grilled chicken breast salad has 660mg of sodium and 937 of potassium (it's also larger than Subway's)
Any of the salads w/o chicken from McDonalds will be low since that's where the sodium comes from.
Jack in the Box Jack's Spicy Chicken sandwich has 406mg of sodium and 417 of potassium if you don't eat the bun.

But all of those are under 300 calories, so you'd want/need to supplement with something else to get to your requested calorie goal. But each place does have fruit, so that's always an option for that.

Actually Subway's Oven Roasted Chicken salad says it only has 270g of sodium. That's impressive. I might have to give that a try. Thanks for all of the responses.

Also, a steak burrito bowl with rice, cheese and sour cream from Chipotle will run you about 540 calories and 670mg of sodium.

Oven roasted, that's what I meant in my first post, not grilled for subway. Just be sure to ask for lot of veggies and also spinach otherwise it's a pretty skimpy salad.

The best option at Mickey D's I have found is the Southwest Salad with grilled chicken with the Southwest dressing.
420 Calories, 15g fat, 41g carbs but 1300 sodium. I know its half the daily intake of sodium but the calories are good and when I absolutely have to eat fast food, I would rather sacrifice the sodium than the calories. As little as I eat fast food though it probably wouldn't make a difference anyway. Once or twice a month.
