Dew is a hard habbit to quit, you have both sugar addiction and caffine addiction to deal with. Will power is the only way to quit anything. Maybe get a lo cal hard candy that taste like it so you get the flavor and drink plenty of water.0

I had this problem but with Pepsi! I drank so much it was eating at my stomach and I needed prescription antacids. i just weaned myself off it, and did have to endure a few headaches but now all I drink is water and it feels damn good! Good luck!0

I had my last Dr Pepper on Friday. I have had a headache since Saturday. I'm drinking lots of water and trying to stay busy. For me, it was best to go old turkey. I wish you luck. It's tough.0

Sugar free Red Bull? I wouldn't drink more than one of these a day but it could be an energy boost when you need it most and might help with the caffine withdraw.0

I had a horrible coke habit! So bad. At least 32oz daily. But I've replaced that with zero calorie powerade and so far so good. Last time I had soda was on 7/27 (with an exception for my birthday 8/13).0

Wow old turkey is hardcore....I assume it was moldy too? :sick:0 -
Diet soda or black coffee to handle the caffeine withdrawal symptoms. If you think you're tough enough, you can also try going cold turkey and just drink water.0

switch to tea.0

Diet Dew, for sure.0

Old turkey is the best way. Rip that bandage off!0

Easy solution: Don't buy it anymore. That's what I did and wouldn't ya know it worked great! I'm serious though. That's what I finally had to do.0

When I quit drinking coffee I got horrible caffeine withdraw headaches. I drink tea now usually but I took caffeine pills to stop the headaches initially and also to pep me up!! :bigsmile:0

I haven't read any evidence myself but I've been told by others that MIO drops have some pretty gnarly chemicals in em.0 -

Ok, this made me snort! "A horrible coke habit". Bahahahaha!0 -
There was a TLC show that covered this only with Coke.
Basically the lady had to throw away all her "secret" stash; then she had to go from whatever number she had/day down to 1/4 that then after a week down 1/4 more till the end when you can cope with out it.
Good luck.0 -

It sounds silly, I was addicted to Pepsi Max but I replaced it with water. I know it sounds naff & off putting but since drinking water instead, I feel so much better. I had no idea how much Pepsi Max made me feel so clogged up. I still had the craving for it for a while but, it was worth it . Instead of feeling clogged up, I feel refreshed.0 -
I also am a Dewaholic. A friend suggested diet, but...... eeewww! So then she told me to try half regular and half diet. I mix them in water bottles. Not bad. I have been doing this for 2 weeks now. Not only am I cutting half of the calories and sugar, I also quit having my third one in the evening. Another benefit is that I can now drink other diet stuff (like teas) . They don't taste as bad to me now. Next step...... 1/3 to 2/3 ratio.0

I was completely addicted to diet soda, and quit drinking it about 8 weeks ago. I will have one every once in awhile. But I say go cold turkey. Your head will hurt for a few days but after you will be fine! I don't even crave it anymore. I just drink water now.0

Addiction counselling usually suggests to stop 'using' a little at a time. You have to think of it terms of chemical dependency. Your insulin and blood sugar levels are peaking and dropping therefore you may experience headaches and cravings.
If you are used to having 3 (or More a day) (for instance) cut down to 1 or 2 .. try that for a few days then just 1 .. after a few more days then 1/2 .. then lemon water ... get the picture?0 -
