Calorie Deficit 98% of the time

No matter what I try, I almost always end up with a calorie deficit. I feel like I am eating enough every day and am no longer hungry after meals. I do exercise a lot, more aware of what I eat, given up soda & practically all sweets with small amounts here & there. which I never used to do. I'm at 30 days straight going to the gym tomorrow. I keep reading that it's not good to have a deficit but I've tried to eat more & I just can't because I am full. Any suggestions?
